Erosion

Read the following link:

http://www.geography4kids.com/files/land_erosion.html

Now that you have made you first post and read this link, how would you define erosion? Explain what happens during erosion and the various types.

  1. Erosion is the breaking down of continents and the land around you. Chemical erosion is similar to pouring acid on a rock. Physical erosion is similar to hitting a rock with a hammer.

  2. Erosion is basically the process that breaks things down. It breaks down the continents and the land around us. Denudation is the process of erosion. Denudation is the overall effect of breaking down and weathering the land. The two different types are chemical and physical weathering.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I would define Erosion as the process of breaking things down.During erosion bigger things get broken down into smaller things either physically or chemically. the types of erosion are weathering denudation.

  4. Erosion Is the process that breaks things down by water wind ice and a whole bunch of other stuff. The 2 types of erosion are chemical weathering and physical weathering.

  5. Erosion is the process that breaks things down. The different types of erosion are physical and chemical.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Erosion is the process of things breaking down. During erosion masses of dirt and rock are moved to another place (mass wasting). The different types are mechanical, and chemical. Mechanical is similar to breaking a rock with a hammer. Chemical Is similar to pouring something on the rock to make it dissolve.

  7. @ Carley Snell,
I didn't know what chemical erosion was similar too,or phsyical. That's really cool. Did you know denudation is the process of erosion? An example of denudation is and ocean beating against a cliff and breaking it apart.

  8. Erosion is the process that breaks things down. The object is broken off a bigger object it makes more and more smaller objects. The types of erosion are Physical and Chemical erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I would define erosion as the process of breaking things down and then transferring or moving the broken down pieces to new locations. During erosion, small rocks and even large hills and mountains break apart into smaller pieces. Then, after that, the pieces are moved to other places in their smaller form. Erosion can cause mountains to get smaller because of the rock eroding off of it, but it can also cause land areas to get larger if there is a lot of eroded rock building up in one spot.

Two types of erosion are mechanical and and chemical. Mechanical erosion would be like breaking a rock with a hammer or water causing a rock to get smaller. Chemical erosion would be like pouring acid on a rock, causing it to disintegrate.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Erosion is when water, ice, wind, acid and many more things break down something bigger like a mountain or a river could create a canyon. There is chemical and physical erosion. It can make sand and wetlands at the mouth of a river.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Erosion is the process that breaks things down.Chemical erosion is like pouring acid on a rock and watching it disolve and physical erosion is like hitting the rock with a hammer.

  12. Erosion is the process that break's thing's down. Physical erosion is like breaking a rock with a hammer. Chemical erosion is like pouring acid on a rock and watching it dissolve

    ReplyDelete
  13. Erosion is the process of breaking large things down and turning them into little things. The types of erosion are physical and chemical. Physical erosion is when a force like rain or wind breaks something down and chemical is where acid or other chemicals break something down.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Erosion is just nature breaking down other naturalistic material. A material that is eroding starts out big, then gets broken down into a smaller object, which then gets broken down into an even smaller object. Mechanical and chemical are two types of erosion. Mechanical is ussally caused by two solids. Chemical is caused ussally by a solid and another type of matter.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Erosion is when things get broken down. These things can be broken down physically ( like if you pounded it with a hammer) or chemically ( like if you poured acid on it and it melted). When erosion occurs things are gettingn smaller.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @ Carley Snell

I agree that those are the two types of erosion (chemical and mechanical), but hitting a rock with a hammer isn't the only example of mechanical erosion. Mechanical erosion can also be cause by accidentally stepping on a rock or by water wearing the rock down to a smaller size.

    ReplyDelete
  17. @ Taylar Herbers

    I agree with you

    ReplyDelete
  18. @ Zach Schmidt
Sand can form at the mouth of a river but normally forms on moutains or cliffs.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Erosion is a process that breaks things down the continents and the land around you. The overall effect is denudation, which is the process of erosion.Physical erosion is similar to hitting a rock with a hammer. Chemical erosion is different because it is similar to pouring acid on a rock and not hitting it

    ~Brooke Chesney

  20. erosion is the breaking down of objects there are two kinds of erosion physical and chemical physical erosion is like hitting a rock with a hammer and chemical erosion is like pouring acid on a rock to dissolve it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. @ matthew murphy

I agree that there is chemical and physical erosion but what happens during the period of erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Erosion is the process of breaking down continents. During erosion big and huge objects are broken down into smaller objects. One kind of erosion is Denudation the process of breaking down large objects into smaller objects in a downhill position.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Erosion is breaking down big things into smaller things. The overall effect of weathering and the breaking down is denudation. The types of erosion are chemical erosion and physical erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Erosion is the proses of breaking things down. Phisical erosion is simular to breaking a rock with a hammer. Ghemical erosion is like pouring acid on to a rock and letting it dessolve the rock

    ReplyDelete
  25. I would define erosion as the breaking down of a solid object. There are a lot of different types of erosion such as chemical erosion, in which a solid object (like a rock) is broken down due to acid, rain and other chemical substances. There is also the mechanical type of erosion, in which a rock is broken apart due to physical contact with another solid object. (An example of mechanical erosion would be like hitting a rock with a hammer.)

    ReplyDelete
  26. erosion is the beaking down of rock and mineral and happens and two ways, chemical and mechanical. mechanical is breaking by contact and chemical is by acid or chemicals eating at the rocks

    ReplyDelete
  27. Now that I have read this I would define erosion as items like rocks being broken down over time not because of humans, but because of nature. What happens during erosion is things like rain can wash small rocks down to the bottom of a mountain or possibly into a stream. They small rocks could have easily turned into sand and be washed down the stream hitting against things at the bottom of the stream causing the rock to break apart.

    ReplyDelete
  28. @ maddie lindemenn
Thanks for sharing the information on Denudation. I didnt know that was part of erosion

    ReplyDelete
  29. Erosion is when things break down and this happens all around you every day. Weathering is part of erosion and denudation is too. Weathering is the whole affect of erosion. And denudation is when thing in nature are broke down from larger things to smaller things. Also there is two types of erosion one is mechanical which is like hitting a rock with a hammer to crack it. The other is chemical which is like pouring acid on a rock to dissolve it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Know that I have read the link I would define Erosion as the process of breaking things down. Weathering is one example erosion when weathering is in act it wears earth down by physical things like a stream slowly wearing away the rock it is over, and turning into a river.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @ Bryant
I agree with you with the objects are being broken down and getting smaller

    ReplyDelete
  32. @zach schmidt
yes i agree it can also form desserts and wetlands.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Joshua Whalen

So is physical the same as mechanical or would that mean there is three types of erosion?

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Maddie
Denudation is pretty cool it's like a ocean hitting a cliff and making the cliff have erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Dylan Noble
    I agree with you

    ReplyDelete
  36. @ Alex Stevens
From the examples you've given of mechanical (or physical) erosion, I'm assuming some reasons for physical erosion can be because of humans? I would assume that because chemical erosion happens because of acids and other chemicals.

    ReplyDelete
  37. @ Nate horning I totally agree with u.

    ReplyDelete
  38. @ zach schmidt i completely agree with you but you forgot about the two types of erosion

    ReplyDelete
  39. @ Alex Stevens
It is so cool how nature can break a huge mountain into a hill.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Erosion is the break down of rocks and minerals. The process is that big rocks turn in to small pebbles ext era... Ice, wind, water, and gravity play a big role in the process. For an example is that a bolder could be rolling down a mountain and will break up while rolling down. the process is weathering.

    ReplyDelete
  41. @ Noble, Dylan

Do you have any examples of what happen during mechanical and physical weathering/erosion????? :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Erosion is the process that break thing down. Chemical erosion is like pouring acid on a rock which makes it dissolve. Physical erosion would be hitting something with another object like if a wrecking ball hit a cliff it would break part of it off.

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Joshua Whalen

What do you mean i forgot the two types of erosion? physical and chemical.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @Alex Stevens
I Don't think that when things are broken down that they are then being transferred or are moving to a new location

    ~Brooke Chesney

    ReplyDelete
  45. @ Drew FitzGibbon I agree that erosion is just making things smaller

    ReplyDelete
  46. @ Dallas Blasek

    I agree

    ReplyDelete
  47. @Jalynn Johnson

I didn't know that mass wasting was when dirt and rocks are moved from one place from another. And I think mechanical is the same as physical and its weird because everyone says something different.

    ReplyDelete
  48. @ Brian Schraffenberger

    I completely agree with you.

    ReplyDelete
  49. @Matthew Murphy

I agree with what you said but what about what happens during erosion and al the other things you were supposed to answer.

    ~TAylar Herbers

    ReplyDelete
  50. @Wade Stenger
That is true physical erosion is like hitting a rock with a hammer. funny comparison by the way

    ReplyDelete
  51. @Joshua Whalen

Do you know what denudation is? I think it is another word for erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  52. @Taylar Herbers
I think you ment to say that the different types of erosion are chemical and physical not weathering and denudation.

    ReplyDelete
  53. @zach No i actually dont no what it is are you sure thats what it means if so thats cool! :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. @Lorraine Lowrey
That's a really good exapmle. That kind of makes it easier for me to understand erosion/weathering.

    ReplyDelete
  55. @ wade
I agree with the hammer thing I said the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  56. @ Lorraine Lowrey

    That's a good example. I didn't think of that.

    ReplyDelete
  57. @ Matthew Murphy

Yeah i did mean to put physical and chemical i didnt know what i was Thinking(:

    ~TAylar Herbers

    ReplyDelete
  58. @ Alex Stevens
I agree, but that's only one example. There are many ways that a rock could erode away.

    ReplyDelete
  59. @Joshua Whalen

I think its a word for the entire process including weathering AND erosion!

    ReplyDelete
  60. @ Ross Campbell

good post i Agree with all of it 100%

    ReplyDelete
  61. @ Abby

    Do you have any examples??

    ReplyDelete
  62. @zach where did you find that out at?!?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  63. @Joshua Whalen

This blog comes with an article...!

    ReplyDelete
  64. @ Julia Glenn

That was a good example of physical, but what about chemical?

    ReplyDelete
  65. @Maddie Lindemann
I noticed that you didn't explain what the two types of erosion are. Chemical erosion is pretty much just like pouring an acid on a rock. Physical Erosion is any physical way to break a rock, really.

    ReplyDelete
  66. @ Jenny
Physical could be like water going over a rock and slowly wearing it down. Chemical would be like pouring acid over a rock.

    ReplyDelete
  67. @ zach i know I read it, i guess i didnt read it good enough..:l

    ReplyDelete
  68. @Brooke Chesney

    I agree it is very simailar to hitting a rock with a hammer(;

    ~TAylar Herbers

    ReplyDelete
  69. @ Liz Scarlato
Another example of physical or mechanical erosion could be just simply stepping on a rock or even dropping a rock.

    ReplyDelete
  70. @Joshua Whalen

OK. thats good,i didnt know how many years erosion took to create big structures like the grand canyon until now.

    ReplyDelete
  71. @TAYLAR H.
    OK!!;)

    ~Brooke CHesney

    ReplyDelete
  72. Erosion is the process of breaking things down. The things getting broken down can either be broken down chemicaly(I think thats how you spell it, but whatever) or Physicaly.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Erosion is the process of breaking things down. There are two types of erosion, chemical and mechanical. An example of mechanical erosion is when, you hit a rock with a hammer, or step on it and it breaks. An example of chemical erosion would be when you pour acid on a rock.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Erosion is the process of breaking materials down into smaller pieces. there are 2 different types of erosion, Chemical (burning a piece of paper) and physical( sanding down a piece of wood).

    ReplyDelete
  75. Erosion is the movement of materials by wind or water once they have been broken down. Weathering is the process when the mineral are broken down so the erosion can carry them away. There are two types of erosion, Chemical and Physical.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Erosion is the process that brakes things down. erosion shapes the land in different ways. Its what makes the cool land form we know today.

P.S. I'm not going to type name weird anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I would say that erosion is the process of moving or breaking down materials. Chemical erosion is using chemicals to move or break down materials. Physical erosion is erosion that happens with out chemicals.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Erosion is the process of rocks breaking down over time. Water, soil, and rocks break down other objects in nature and form new and/or smaller objects in its place.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I think I would define erosion as the prosess of something being broken up. Also the movement of materials by wind or water.

    ReplyDelete
  80. @ Brad weidner
WOW wait-to-go brad you made that sound fancy.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Erosion is the movement of materials being broken down by wind, water,or ice.

    ReplyDelete
  82. @ W!11
What is your favorite land form that is created by erosion?

P.S. Please type your name funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. erosion is the process of breaking down the continents and the land around us. the types of erosion are chemical which is melting or burning a part of nature with chemicals, and there is physical erosion like if you take a rock of a mountain and throw it on the ground.

    ReplyDelete
  84. @ Julia glenn
Isn't it cool that erosion can make canyons.

    ReplyDelete
  85. So, if i was physical erosion I could walk around hitting rocks with a hammer? (: haha, sounds fuuun..So then chemical erosion must be like pouring acid on rocks til they break down? So would water be physical or chemical erosion. Im guessing physical..

    ReplyDelete
  86. Erosion is the process of water, wind or ice moving an object or material.Chemical erosion is like rock dissolving because acid was poured on it.Physical erosion is when minerals or rocks are broken down by gravity, ice, wind or water.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Erosion is the process of breaking things down. During erosion, wind, water, ice, etc. break down a substance into smaller partials, like when water gets into the cracks of a rock and freezes, the ice expands and breaks apart the rock into smaller bits and that's erosion, when things are broken into smaller things and/or moved by water or wind. Erosion can be caused by nature or humans and animals. A human could walk along and pick up a stone and throw it, that would be erosion because it was moved from one place to the other and it may have been broken into smaller bits too. The same with animals, they could dig in the dirt and be moving the soil from one place to the other.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Erosion is land or water that is moving or disappering because oof weathering. A type of erosian is denudation which is the overall result of breaking down and weathering.

    ReplyDelete
  89. @ B@l!E C0nW@y
    I like the grand canyon!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Erosion is the process that breaks things down from large objects to smaller objects.Denudation is one type of weathering.Weathering and erosion always happen in a downhill direction.

    ReplyDelete
  91. @ brian s.
I like how you gave an example of what physical erosion is like.

    ReplyDelete
  92. @ Julia
Julia that was only an example of physical erosion. Silly.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Erosion is the breakdown of materials into smaller pieces. It is the breakdown of one thing (land form, rock, etc.) into another thing. The Grand Canyon was formed due to erosion. During erosion stuff is broken down and is a smaller size than in was previously. Sometimes there is physical erosion and sometimes there is chemical erosion. In physical erosion the material goes through only physical changes. In chemical erosion the material goes through chemical change(s).

    ReplyDelete
  94. Erosion is what breaks down the land natural. Denudation is the process of erosion and weathering. weathering breaks down rocks and moves it by wind and water. Types of erosion are chemical weathering which is when you pour a acid on a rock and it breaks down. Also there is physical weathering which is when wind, water, ice, plants breaks down the rock.

    ReplyDelete
  95. @ SaraBloemker

I think water is a physical erosion as well. Why do you think that?

    ReplyDelete
  96. @Maggiieeee Hooveeerrr..(:
Wait, so physical and chemical are not erosions there weathering conditions? im so confused..:-/ haha, look at me so we can make funny faces again..but really..help me?

    ReplyDelete
  97. @ andrea schawb

oh yeah i forget to mention the part about wind, water, and ice.

    ReplyDelete
  98. @ Jesse Noel
I also learned that denudation is a type of erosion. I also knew but still posted about erosion always happening in a downhill direction.

    ReplyDelete
  99. during erosion stuff breaks down like if a pice of a mountian where to fall of it would become a rock and if that eroded it might make sand. heresome exampels of erosion
    montian--->rock---->sand
    mountian-->hill-->flatland-->vally-->pond-->lake
    river-->creek-->cliff

    ReplyDelete
  100. @ Brian Schraffenberger

I agree that chemical erosion is like pouring acid on a rock till it dissolves.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Erosion is when wind water ice and acid wear away or break down big object (a mountain)into a smaller object (a rock).Erosion can be physical or chemical.this overall process is called denudation.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Erosion: the process of breaking things down. The overall effect of weathering and breaking things down are both called denudation. In nature, big things are broke down to smaller things. For example, boulders become sand over time.
Chemical Erosion: chemical beakdown of rocks and minerals into a new substance
Physical Erosion: the breakdown of rocks and minerals through direct contact with the atmosphere, wind, ice, water, snow, and animals

    ReplyDelete
  103. @ W!11
That one is pretty cool. You know that at some points it is one mile deep. It must have taken many millennia for that too happen. I wonder how long it would take until you hit the bottom if you fell? Ouch!!
P.S. It's still Bailee not bailie. Never has, never w!11.

    ReplyDelete
  104. @ Drew FitzGibbon
When erosion happens things don't just get smaller sometimes erosion makes things bigger.

    ReplyDelete
  105. @ carley snell
i like how you gave spefic examples of physial erosion like it is hitting a rock with a hamer and that chemical erosion is like pouring acid on a rock

    ReplyDelete
  106. @ Maagg Hovveeer,
I think its physical because chemicals are not in water, and because im a smarticaal..NOt a cow!, a calf..but i think its physical because chemical usally arnt in water and its a slower process so its physical..I think.@

    ReplyDelete
  107. @ Jenna Bertke...
I agree with you. However throwing a stone would be deposition, but an animal digging a hole was a great example of erosion. Moving materials from one place to another is deposition. Great comment.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Maggie Hoover@ I agree, erosion is when things are broken down, and do you think Mechanical and Physical are the same thing? I think they would be, just a more scientific name. I think Chemical would be when anything is eroded unnaturally, like by acid or possibly fire. And physical is nature and other living things like plants and animals.

    ReplyDelete
  109. @Finny
I Din't see the part that said that erosion always happens in a downhill direction... that seems pretty cool!!

    ReplyDelete
  110. @ Sara Bloemker(;l

Your comment confused me....Mehcanical and chemical are part of erosion, and water is a way to erode things....I think that answers your question but i dunno.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Erosion is the breaking down process of different objects and materials.Erosion has been shaping our world forever.Erosion has shaped our continents, countries, cities, and states all over the world.Water,Ice,Wind,Rain,Rivers,Snow, and Rocks are all part of the process of erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Kat Slattery@ Oh right, thanks for the tip. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  113. @ Cara
Which one, wind water ice or chemicals, do you think can break down minerals the fastest?

    ReplyDelete
  114. @ Jenna Bertke

I think physical and mechanical are the same thing, but like you said, a scientific name. I agree that chemcial is when you unnaturally wear away things.

    ReplyDelete
  115. @Conner Zhang,
I like you you showed what happens with your lil arrow type thingys. yOU INSPIRE ME, IN A GOOD WAY, TO BASICALLY to show or tell my thoughts to other people so they see where Im coming from and my point of view. Thanx.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Cara Roche@ I agree with your explanations, but just a tip, you may have wanted to explain the types of erosion, Chemical and Physical/Mechanical so people know the difference. Great job with your explanations on erosion! :)

    ReplyDelete
  117. @ Liz Scarlato...
I agree. Nice answer I like your example for chemical erosion, it was very clear and to the point. It is very clear that acid is a chemical so it helps to better define what chemical erosion is.

    ReplyDelete
  118. @ sara bloemker
physical and chemical are weathering conditions but they both are just diffrent ways of breaking down an object like erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Erosion is a process of breaking things down. The two types of erosion are physical and chemical. A physical type of an erosion is something you do not add to the substance. An example is using a hammer to break down a rock. A chemical type of an erosion is adding some sort of substance. An example is pouring acid on a rock. Something that happens during the erosion process is rocks, mountains, or land are being broken down into smaller pieces.

    ReplyDelete
  120. @ Finny
What about level. Not necessarily up hill but not down hill

    ReplyDelete
  121. @ Cara

    Im very confused.

    ReplyDelete
  122. @ Maggie Hooveer,
Ummm..thanxxx for the tip? haha, Im still iffy but its okaaaaay..I wonder what would happen if you had a physsical erosion and a chemical erosion at the same time.......AWESOME!!!(:

    ReplyDelete
  123. @Maggie Hoover.

I agree with you, it sounds good. But you forgot how to explain what happens during an erosion.

    (;

    ReplyDelete
  124. @ bailee
I think it would depend on how much wind/rain/or ice there is, or the type of chemicals.

    ReplyDelete
  125. @ Cara,
Thanx for explaining i get it now...duuuh..haha,

    ReplyDelete
  126. @ Saraaa Bloemker(:

Its okk, so am I(: I'm thinking Cara needs to explain things to uss,(:

    ReplyDelete
  127. my last post (-_-)

    ReplyDelete
  128. @ Noble, Dylan...
I like you answer it was very short, but it explains everything as much as necessary without using too many extra words or sentences that aren't necessary. However I feel that you should have explained what happens during erosion and the difference between chemical and physical erosion.

  130. Erosion is the process of materials breaking down. It can also be physical or chemical.-Dominic Deutsch

    ReplyDelete
  131. Erosion is the process of breakingdown rock and ice and other minerals its like taking something heavy and smashing it on a rock to make it break into littler pieces only erosion takes a longer amount of time.

    ReplyDelete
  132. erosion that makes movement in the earth

    ReplyDelete
  133. Erosion is the process by which the surface of the earth is worn away by the action of water, glaciers, winds, waves. What happens during erosion is when it rains it makes the rock make a different forms.

Erosion is process of breaking down minerals inn the ice. its like takeing sometheing hevey and smashing it in to sometheing like your hand u drop a 100 pound rock on it ur hand broken in to diffent sections. Erosion takes longer then any other theing.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Erosin is where it breaks down things. the two chemicals are phisical and chemical. like an examples you have a hammer and you smash a rock and the rock will be in pieces and it also will be smaller because its broken up. Some of the rocks will change color but rocks that are frozen and broken by frost are the same color they where

    ReplyDelete
  136. @Sarah colwell i agree with you it is like a hammer slamming down and crushing a rock.

    ReplyDelete
  137. @ Jordan Gardner

That is true thats what I wot.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Erosion is a force that take away a substance over a certain amount of time. When an erosion happens its taking away a different substance. The 2 known erosion's are Chemical Erosion and Physical Erosion.

    ReplyDelete
  139. A surefire way to tell what is happening is to check the color of the rock. If a boulder breaks because of frost, you won't see a color change. If you see rock that has been near the ocean, you may observe color changes because it is oxidizing.

    ReplyDelete
  140. erosion is a chimicial that breaks dwn hard and soft things such as meadials and and pillows and things like that....there are many diffrent inds of erosions some kinds is phyisical erosion and chemical erosion and thers more....

Erosion is objects that have been broken down or worn away.Wouldn't the grand canyon be something that has been eroded away to form the dips. When things erode they break down and they don't stop for example a rock millions of years ago that rock could have been a boulder but now it's just a small rock and it will continue to get smaller.

I like how you worded your defintion.
    ~kylie lonneman

    ReplyDelete
  143. We agree with you grongen because it dose that along time for eroin.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I would define Erosion by; a Erosion is a process of breaking things down.and also erosion is the breakdown of the continents and the land surrounded by it.What happens during an erosion is the transport/movement of the objects/materials are being broken down by these such materials which are:by wind, and also by water or ice.And the types of erosion are:chemical and physical.

    ReplyDelete
  145. I think erosion is a cool process that can break even the biggest rocks into tiny pieces of dust or sand but the thing is that it takes thousands of years to process and then it could turn into also turn into dirt.

  146. erosion is when a rock or a minerals is broke down by water, wind, ice. it breaksdown and it formed the grand cannone and i t some times helps us. but erosion takes a longer amount of time

  148. erosion is the breaking down of rocks and minerals by water soil wind and ice
erosion is like taking a shovel and digging dirt out of the ground.

  149. Erosion is when bigger things break down into smaller things. There are 2 different types of erosion, chemical and mechanical. Chemical erosion is similar to pouring acid onto mountains and then they dissolve. Mechanical erosion is like humans using hammers and axes and brake the mountains.

  150. I would define erosion as a process that happens during flods and what it dos is take land from other parts and deposets them in a new location this happens when it rains and it is wind.

  151. I thought that waethering just ment something like it was going to rain or something but it also lerned that it means soiln under neth the ground is shifting or moving with makes Erosin happen

  152. @JordanGardner

I agree that taking a heavy object and throwing it to the ground is the same thing as erosion because it is taking rock and minerals away from the whole object

  153. Erosion-is the process that breaks things down. As far as were concerned, erosion is the breakdown of the continents and the land. Denudation happens during erosion. also, the various types of erosion are physical weathering and chemical weathering

    ReplyDelete
  154. Erosion breaks rocks down over time from weathering. Denudation is the process of erosion. It says erosion is a simple process to understand it is like taking a rock out of a cliff/ mountain and slamming it on the ground and breaking into millions of tiny pieces.

  155. @ rachelle kuebel
I agree with you erosion dos break down into smaller things.

which one is which?, or are they both the same thing? There are 2 different types but they are both types of erosion.

  157. Erosion is the process that breaks things down. The overall effect of breaking down and weathering the land is called denudation. The two types of Erosion are mechanical, similar to breaking a rock with a hammer; and chemical, similar to pouring acid on a rock to dissolve it.

  158. Erosion is the process of things breaking down. Different types of erosion are chemical and physical. Chemical erosion is pouring an acid on a rock and seeing it dissolve. Physical erosion is breaking a rock with a hammer.

    ReplyDelete
  159. I would define erosion the process of breaking down materials. There two types of erosions physical is like you hitting the rock and breaking it. The other type of erosion is chemical like pouring acid on it.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Erosion is the process that break things down. Weathering is an other type of erosion. Erosion is like the ocean hitting a cliff it is slowly breaking down the cliff and making it smaller. Denudation is the process of erosion. In nature big things are broken down into smaller things.

  161. Erosion is the process of breaking things down.what happens during Erosion and the Various types? A rock is pull it out of a mountain then throw it down on the ground.

  162. Erosion is the breakdown of the continents and the land around you. Earth breaks down after time and Weathering and denudation.

  163. erosion is happining every were look rock are moving wind is blowing water is flowing i agree with the artical about

  164. Erosion is the trasport of materials, by wind, water, or ice once they have been broken down.
During erosion there is something happening and that is called wheathering and wheathering is when the process in which materials such as rocks are broken down into smaller peices. The the peices are carried away in erosion. Also there is 2 types of wheathering which are chemical wheathering and physical wheathering. During chemical wheathering the chemicals breakdown the rock and minerals into new substances. Common agents of chemical wheathering are water, acids, and soil. THen theres physical wheathering and that is the breakdown of rocks and minerals through direct contact with atmospheric conditions, such as ice, wind, gravity, plants and animals.

  166. Erosion is when something breaks or becomes new.One various type of erosion is when a rock is under water and changes a different color is,one thing that goes with that is oxiside.

I agree with you, you are right.

  168. i agree with andy abot the break down rock

  169. I agree with Mathew Budde because I also think erosion is the process of land masses breaking down`

  170. Erosion is the process of things breaking down. The two different types of erosion are chemical and psychical. Chemical is when acid or water or soil gets on a rock and you see it wear away. Physical erosion is throwing the rock on the ground as hard as you can and breaking it.

    Define erosion:
is the process that breaks even the biggest rocks into tiny rocks from the cause of rain, soil, mud, and dirt.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Erosion is the breaking down of a land form or an object. During erosion, weather or people re-forming land. The two type's of are Mechanical and Chemical.

  173. @Jalynn Johnson
I agree with your statement. I like how you added in that mass wasting and dirt moving to another place are both the same! A question that I have are how can we prevent erosion? Is there any possible way at all?

  174. @Ben schapker
I agree that is what i put too for the process of erosin.

i agree that there is two types of erosion's and those are the kinds you said. I also agree that erosion is the process of breaking down materials

I really like your examples for physical and mechanical weathering

  180. I would define erosion by the transport or movement of materials, by wind, water or ice, once they have been broken down. During erosion minerals break down by different things like water, ice, wind, gravity, plants, soil, and animals that is all can make erosion or can get ripped up by erosion. There is two types of erosion and they are Chemical Weathering and Physical Weathering.

  181. Erosion is the breaking down of land by wind, water, ice, gravity, plants, and animals. There are two types of weathering, chemical and physical. Chemical weathering is when rocks or minerals break down into new substances and physical weathering is when rocks and minerals face conditions that breaks them down.
