NASA's launch

NASA launched it's latest endeavor on Saturday.  Read the following link:

Mars rover

What did this launch consist of?  What is it's name?  How long will the journey take?  How far is the journey?  What are they looking for, what are they hoping to learn?

    It launched a rover named curiosity to mars. It will take 8 and a half months to travel the 354 million mile journey. Curiosity will hunt for organic compounds to see if there was/is life on mars. One thing that we found interesting was that Curiosity is powered by 10.6 pounds of radioactive plutonium.

    NASA plans to reach Mars by next summer using the spaceship named "Curiosity". They are hoping to learn whether or not Mars is consistent of having life on that planet. The journey is expected to take about 8.5 months and it is about 354 million miles.

    What is radioactive plutonium? Since it powers Curiosity it is kind of important to know and we were all confused.

  4. they launched a rover named curiosity it is saposed to take 8 months and a half to travel a distance of 354 miles they are looking for organic compounds and hopeing to learn if there was or is life on mars.
