Parts of the Earth

What are the names of the layers inside the earth?  What is each layer like?  What is the difference between the crust, lithosphere and asthenoshpere?  Click on the link below and use your mouse to scroll over the parts of the earth to find out what they are and how each layer is different.

The names are Crust, Mantle, Outer Core, Inner Core. The crust is hard and rigid. Dense layer of hot semisolid rock. The outer core is the only liquid layer in the earth. Extremely hot solid sphere made of iron and nickel. The crust is the outer most layer, the lithosphere is the plates of the earth, and the asthenosphere is the liquid the plates float on.

The layers of the earth are the crust, the mantle (asthenosphere and lithosphere), the outer core, and the inner core. The crust is solid and thin. The mantle is molten semi-solid rock. The outer core is the only liquid part of the earth. The inner core is a solid ball of hot iron and nickel.
The lithosphere is part of the crust and mantle. It is made up of constantly moving plates. The asthenosphere is just under the lithosphere, and it is made of a malleable (movable) semi-liquid. The crust is the most solid part of the earth, and it is also the most thin part of the earth.

The names of the layers of the inside of the earth are the crust, mantle, and core. The crust is the layer right beneath our feet. It is the coldest part of the layer's. The mantle is the second layer. It is hotter than the crust but not as hot as the core. The core is the third layer and is very very very hot. The Lithosphere is made up of very very very slow moving plates. The Asthenosphere is a semi liquid.

  4. the crust, mantle, and core. The crust is the earths outermost layers and the thinest. the mantle is made up of a dense layer of semisolid rock. outer core is the only liquid layer of the earth. inner core is a hot solid ball at the center of the earth.

The names of the layers inside the Earth are the crust, the mantle, inner core, and the outer core.
The crust is hard and rigid. The mantle is a dense layer made of hot, semisolid rock located directly below the crust. The inner core is an extremely hot, solid sphere of mostly iron and nickel. The outer core is the liquid layer of the Earth.
The difference between the crust, lithosphere, and the asthenoshpere is that they all are at different locations in the Earth.

The outer layer is the crust. the crust is very hard and rough it is the thinnest layer of them all.Next is the mantle it is divided into two layers they are very hot.And it is directly below the crust. Also there is the outer core it is made of mostly liquid and very hot.It is mostly iron and nickel. Last but not least there is he inner core it is the hottest of all the layers and it is the very center which makes sense. It is also iron and nickel and is also a liquid. Then we get to plate tectonics. It is the outer layer(crust) is the lithosphere which is these big slabs of rock and when they shake they can create terrible disasters.

The outer core is the only liquid layer of the earth, but I would like to add that the inner core is the only completely solid part of the earth. (The weight of the rest of the earth is pressing down on it, which solidifies it.

  9. lithosphere is a layer of rock that holds up the ocean and continents. a hot semiliquid that the lithosphere floats on.

We didn't mean to say the mantle was a liquid cause it isn't.

The parts of the earth are the crust the mantal the outeer core and the inner core. The crust id very hard and rigged and is the thinnist layer of the earth. The mantal is subdivided into two regions. The outer layer is the only liqued layer of the earth, the inner core is the hottest part of the earth and is a solid sphere of mostly iron and nickel. the lithosphere is the plates of the earth, the asthenosphere is the liquid the plates float on and the The crust is the outer most layer.

The crust, the mantel, the outer core and the inner core. The crust is very hard, and rigged, but it also the thinnest layer. The mantel is divided into two parts. The outer partis the only liquid layer of the earth. The inner core is very hot, in fact its the hottest layer. It is a sphere of iron and nickel. The athenosphere is the liquid the plates float on, and the lithosphere is the plates of the earth. The crust is the outer most layer.

Crust, two mantles outer core, and then inner core. They are all molten lava except for the crust, which is what we live on and it is solid rock, the core is the hottest. The crust is the top part of the earth, we live on it, the lithosphere is molten lava as well as the asthenoshphere and all of them are part of the mantle.

We agree. I wander if miners ever reach the mantle. It would be pretty cool if the there was a center of the earth like the movie thats where i would want to live.

    Mrs.Hoffman,
The earth has many crust layers that are called crust, inner core, outer core and mantle.Asthenoshpere and, lithoshere are all apart of the earths crust. This is the first time I have ever heard of all of the eath crust names.

The crust, mantle, inner core, outer core. The crust is hard rigid and the thinnest layer. The outer core is a liquid layer of earth and its a sea of nickel and iron. The mantle is divided into 2 regions. Upper and lower, the dense layer made of hot, semisolid rock. The inner core is extremely hot and its a solid sphere made of iron and nickel at the center of the earth.

The name layers names are Crust, Mental, Outer Core, and Inter Core. The crust is hard and tougher than other layers. Dense layer of hot semisolid rock. The Outer Core is the only liquid layer in the earth Core. Extremely hot solid sphere made of iron. The Crust is the Outer most layer and the lithosphere. It is the plates of the earth that the asthenosphere is the liquid that the plates float on. We think in side the earth is lava and different materials.

there is 4 layers inside the earth. The outer one is called the crust, it is hard and rigid. The layer after that is called the mantle, it is 1800 miles thick there is a upper and lower mantle. The layer under the mantle is the outer core and liquid. It is mostly iron and nickel and 1400 miles thick. The very inside of the earth is the inner core. It is extremely hot and also made of nickel and iron. It is around 750 miles in diameter.
