How are minerals used?

Minerals are found in things you use everyday.  SOme things you may already know, but some of the mierals you use may suprise you.  Check out the following link:
Mineral Activity

Complete the following activities, Minerals are Everywhere and Mineral Mix-n-Match.
Make sure to select the 'play again with a new set of objects' choice at least 3 times for each activity.
Once you completed these activities post the names of some of the minerals you have learned as well as the uses for these minerals.

    aluminum- airplane
    quartz- glass
    gypsum- cement and casts
    wolframite- light bulbs
    halite- soda crystals

      Aluminum is also used in reusable water bottles and soda cans.

    Quartz is used to make glass.
    Gypsum is used to make plaster casts.
    Fluorite is used in toothbrush bristles.
    Graphite is used in pencils.
    Copper is used in pipes.
    Granite is used in counter-tops.
    Aluminum is used in airplanes.

      Clay is also used to make sculptures.

      Gold is also used to make tooth-fillings and fake-teeth.

      Aluminum is also used to make pop cans.

    I learned that quart is in glass
    Iron is in steel
    and kaolin coffee mugs. Also, silver is in films.

    Gypsum:cement
    Gold: jewelry
    Clay: ceramic
    Aluminum: Aeroplanes
    Gypsum: plaster
    Iron & cromium: stainless steel
    Halite: salt
    Gold: circuit boards
    corundum:emery boards
    tin & steel: tin can

  7. there are alot of diffrent kinds of minerals in the world.... minerals are like rocks but they are more vaulible and more prettier.... thats my answer
