We will be looking at the 3 different types of rocks and how they are formed. Check out the following link and watch 3 short video clips on what must happen to create each different type of rock. Report what you find out.
There are three types of rock that are formed in different ways. Sedimentary rock is formed by layers of sediment under pressure for millions of years. Igneous rock is formed by cooled lava. Metamorphic rock is formed by sedimentary rock heated up by lava.
Sedimentary rocks are formed by sediment under pressure for many years. In a volcano the magma will build up at the plug and erupt after time. Metamorphic rock is sedimentary rock that's heated up by lava.

i agree with max faust because there are three main types of rocks and are formed under pressure for many years.they have a prosess in which max is talking about.
the way sedimentary rocks are formed is being under pressure for many years.a metamorphic rock is made by being heated up by lava from a volcano.magma comes from a volcano in which it builds up and erupts over time.
There are three types of rock, Igneous, Metamorphic, and Sedimentary. The igneous rock comes out of lava and comes out as lava or pumice. The metamorphic rock is Greek for "change of form" and squeeze or fold rocks into something new. The sedimentary rock is when fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water or ice, and cement together into new rocks over millions of years. All of these rocks combine makes the earth's crust.
I agree with Madison; the three types of rock are Igneous, Metamorphic, and Sedimentary rock. They all form in the way described above (sedimentary: deposition/buildup, igneous: volcano eruption, metamorphic: pressure to the sedimentary or igneous rock) and they all are put together to make up the earth's lithosphere.
There are three different rock types: Sedimentary, Igneous, and Metamorphic rock. Sedimentary rock is formed when rock fragments and sediment are deposited together by water, ice, or wind. Over thousands of years, they bind together to make new rocks. Some examples of sedimentary rock are limestone and sandstone. Igneous rock is formed when magma from the earth's mantle rises up. Igneous rocks sometimes erupt from volcanoes as pumice or lava. Metamorphic rock forms when sedimentary or igneous rock change dramatically due to earth's forces such as extreme heat or pressure. The word 'metamorphic' is Greek for 'change of form'.
I agree with Shannon Healey, these many events occur forming the rocks that make up the earths crust. These form the many land forms on the crust. These processes are very interesting. The forms of rock form many more things than I thought about or remember form 5th grade
There are three major types of rocks Igneous, Metamorphic and Sedimentary. Igneous rocks are formed when magma rises from the earth's mantle or they can be found underground magma chambers. Sedimentary rock is formed when different rocks are deposited by wind water or ice, then they are cemented together over time . You can often find fossils in these rocks.Metamorphic rock is formed when igneous and sedimentary rocks change dramatacly inside the earth from heat or pressure.
There are three different types of rocks. They are Sedimentary rocks. Igneous rocks, and metamorphic rocks. To make a a Sedimentary rock rock fragments and sediments are deposited together by water, ice, or wind. Igneous rocks are formed when lava eruptes and it cools that is called Igneous rocks/ cooled lava. Metamorphic rocks are created when Metamorphic rocks are made from the transformation of existing rock types. All of the rocks make up the earths crust.
There are three different types of rocks. There is igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. Igneous rocks are formed because it is cooled lava. Sedimentary rock is formed by layers of sediment under pressure for millions of years. And metamorphic rock is formed by sedimentary rock heated by lava. And metamporphic is Greek for "change of form".

Some rocks are formed by rocky fragments, and sediments deposited together by wind, water or ice. Then, over thousands of years, cement together into new rocks.
Some rocks are formed by rocky fragments, and sediments deposited together by wind, water or ice. Then, over thousands of years, cement together into new rocks. Also, some rocks are formed by molten rocks rises from the mantle, and forms igneous rocks. Also, some sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed dramatically by extreme pressure and heat from the earth.
I found out rocks are formed in 3 different ways. There are 3 different types of rocks; sedimentary rocks, igneous rocks, & metamorphic rocks. I also found out that sometimes sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed dramatically by forces inside the Earth. rocks, & metamorphic rocks. I also found out that sometimes when molten rock called magma rises up from the earth's mantle deep underground, it forms igneous rocks. And lastly, when rocky fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water or ice, they gradually, over thousands or more years, cement together into new rocks, called sedimentary rocks.
I found out that sedimentary rocks are formed by sediments carried by a river. Igneous rocks are formed by molten lava and then cools, creating Igneous rocks. Metamorphic rocks are created when sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed dramatically by extreme pressure and heat from the Earth.
I found that some rocks are formed by small chunks of racks and sediments formed together by wind water or ice. Some rocks are formed by volcanic eruptions. Some rocks change dramatically by intense heat and pressure from the earth.
Sedimentary rocks are formed at the bottom of river beds when layers upon layers of mud and rock lay on top of each other and eventually harden into rock. When molten rock called magma leaks out onto the earths surface and cools it forms igneous rock. Some igneous rocks form in underground magma chambers. Extreme heat and pressure inside the earth can squeeze, fold, and bake igneous rocks and sedimentary rocks together to form Metamorphic rock.
There are three main types of rocks. They are formed from years and years of pressure. Sedimentary rock , is formed from other rocks under pressure for long perods of times About a million years.Metamorphic rocks are formed when sedimentary rocks or igneous rocks change because of the earth's forces like extreme heat and pressure.
Sedimentary rocks are formed when fragments of rock and/or sand get packed together by the wind, water, or ice, and then are gradually cemented together into new shapes o rocks. Molten rock (or magma) rises to the surface of the earth, and they solidify to form igneous rocks. Extreme heat or pressure can cause sedimentary or igneous rocks to transform into something different, and the new rock that forms is called a metamorphic rock.
Sedimentary rocks=When rocky fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water or ice, they slowly (over thousands or more years) come together into new rocks. Igneous rocks=When molten rock called magma rises up from the earth's underground it forms igneous rocks. Metamorphic rock=Extreme heat or pressure underground bakes, squeezes and folds rocks into something new.making metamorphic rock.
Sedimentary is when soil or silt and other things are deposited in layers and dry forming a rock. Igneous is when magma is deposited on the surface and forms a rock. Metamorphic is when sedimentary and igneous are altered at extreme conditions.
The 3 different types of rocks are sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks. Sedimentary rocks are formed when fragments and sediments are joined together by wind, water or ice which gradually join together, forming rocks. Igneous rocks are formed when magma rises from the Earth's mantle, and some erupt from volcanoes as lava. Metamorphic rocks were formed when extreme heat and pressure from underground bake, squeeze,or fold rocks into a new rock.
on video 1 I see that over time sediment covers the land and begins to layer. on video 2 I see volcano ash make rocks with the lava to create pumice. on video 3 I see rock create from magma that comes up from the earth to create islands
@ Zack Schmidt, I found it really cool that igneous rocks are created by molten lava & then cools. Did you know there are three ways that rocks are formed?
There are 3 rock types, Sedimentary, Igneous, and Metamorphic rocks. Sedimentary rocks are formed when rock fragments and sediments are deposited by wind, water, or ice. Over millions of years the fragments and sediments cement together and form Sedimentary rocks. Igneous rocks are formed when magma rises to Earth's surface. When the magma cools it forms Igneous rocks. Metamorphic rocks form when Sedimentary rocks and Igneous rocks are exposed to extreme heat or pressure underground. The extreme heat and pressure cause the rocks to squeeze and fold into something new.
There are 3 different types of rocks; Sedimentary, Igneous, and Metamorphic. and all are formed differently. Sedimentary Rocks are formed from materials that have been shifted from place to place. Igneous rocks are formed when molten rock called magma rises up from the earth's mantle. Metamorphic rocks are formed when Sedimentary and Igneous rocks change dramatically by forces inside the earth.
sedimentary rocks- formed from materials that have been shifted from place to place, often many times. wind, water, or ice they gradually over thousands of years cement together to form sedimentary rocks. some examples of it are sandstone and limestone.
igneous rocks- formed when magma rises up from the mantle, deep underground. some examples are granite and pumice.
metamorphic rocks- are formed when igneous rocks and sedimentary rocks are changed dramatically by forces in the earth. Extreme heat or pressure underground can bake, squeeze, and fold rocks into something new
Sedimentary rocks are made when rocky fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water, or ice. Then over thousands of years, they cement together into rocks. Igneous rocks are formed when molten rock called magma rises from the mantle. Metamorphic rocks are formed when sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed dramatically by forces in the Earth.
There are three different types of rocks all formed in different ways. First off, there is the sedimentary rock, which are formed by materials that have been shifted from place to place. Water, ice, wind and gravity are agents that form sedimentary rocks at the earth's surface. Second off, there are igneous rocks. Igneous rocks are formed when molten rock called lava rises up from the earth's mantle deep underground. Some igneous rocks are made from lava or pumice. Lastly, there are metamorphic rocks. Metamorphic rocks are formed when sedimentary rocks is heated up by lava.
Sedimentary Rocks are formed from materials that have shifted from place to place, often many times. Water, ice, wind and gravity are agents that form sedimentary rocks at or near earth's surface. Igneous rocks form by molten rock called magma. When the magma rises up from earth's mantle deep underground, it forms igneous rocks. Metamorphic Rocks are formed when sedimentary or igneous rocks are dramatically changed. They change by heat, pressure, or chemical action, over geologic time.

The three different rocks are Sedimentary,Igneous, and Metamorphic. I learned that Sedimentary rocks are formed by the sediment under pressure for many years. In a volcano the magma inside will build up and erupt after time.
there is the sedimentary rocks and they have been aroundf for millions of years well actually all rocks have been around for millions of years. Also there is the molten rocks as well. It is formed by lava that has erupted in the past and hardened and formed a rock. Then there is the metamorphic rock which means change of form in greek.
Sedimentary rocks are formed from materials shifted from place to place. When molten rock rises from the earth's mantle it forms igneous rock. Metamorphic rocks are formed my extreme heat and pressure.
Their are 3 main types rocks they are 1:sedimentary rocks, which are formed by the build up of sediments eventually getting cemented together. 2:igneous rock which forms in underground chambers of magma. 3:metamorphic are igneous rocks under extreme heat and pressure causing them to squeeze and fold into new rocks.
@Maddie: I learned the same things you did, and I agree with what you say. When I saw that sedimentary and igneous rocks could be changed dramatically to make metamorphic rocks, I thought it was really cool but I forgot to write it down.
there are 3 types of rocks. sedimentary was formed from layers of sediment that is under pressure for millions of years.Metamorphic rock is formed by sedimentary rock heated up by lava.Igneous rock is formed by cooled lava.
When rocky fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water, or ice, they come together and create sedimentary rocks. When magma rises up from the earth's mantle it forms igneous rocks. Sometimes sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed by forces inside the Earth. Extreme heat or pressure underground can squeeze or fold rocks into something new. Then they are called metamorphic rocks.
The sedimentary rocks are formed from materials that have been shifted from place to place, often times. The igneos rocks are formed from magma that rises up from the earth's mantel deep underground, and The metamorphic rocks are formed from heat, pressure, or chemical action.
I learned that the three main types of rock sedimentary, igneous, metamorphic form in different ways. Sedimentary form in a river after layers of mud and little rocks form which causes the rocks. Igneous forms when magma rises deep from the Earths mantle. Metamorphic forms when Sedimentary and Igneous rocks are changed dramatically.
There are 3 different types of rocks, sedimentary, metamorphic, and molten rock. Sedimentary rocks are formed by, wind, water or ice, they gradually cement together into new rocks. Metamorphic rocks are formed by, Extreme heat or pressure underground can bake, squeeze, or fold rocks into something new. When molten rock called magma rises up from the earth's mantle deep underground.

metamorphosis rocks are igneous or sedimentary rocks that have been changed by heat or pressure. Igneous rocks are rocks made out of cooled lava. Sedimentary rocks are made out of rock particles stuck together over a period of time.
The 3 types of rocks are , sedimentary, metamorphic, and molten rock. Sedimentary rocks are formed by, wind, water or ice, they gradually come together forming new rocks. Metamorphic rocks are formed by, Extreme heat or pressure underground can turn into new rocks. When rocky fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water, or ice, they gradually cement together into new rocks. These rocks are called sedimentary rocks. Igneous rocks are formed when molten rock(magma) rises up from the mantle. Metamorphic rocks are formed when extreme heat or pressure underground bakes, squeezes, or folds the rock into something new. (metamorphic is the Greek term for 'change of form')
There are different types of metamorphic rocks but I don't Know if put it back in the same conditions would change the type.Mabey if it was different but similar amounts of pressure and heat.
There are three types of rock that are formed in different ways. Sedimentary rock is formed from layers of sediment that is under pressure for millions of years.Molten rock (or magma) rises to the surface of the earth, and they solidify to form igneous rocks.Metamorphic rocks are created when sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed dramatically by extreme pressure and heat from the Earth.
There are three types of rocks, igneous, sedimentary, metamorphic. Sedimentary rocks form slowly in rivers and layers of small rocks and mud cause these rocks to form. Igneous rocks are formed by magma from deep down under the Earth's mantle that hardens. Metamorphic rocks are formed by extreme heat, pressure form metamorphic rocks.
The three rock types are igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. Igneous rocks form when magma rises up from the Earths mantle. Sedimentary form in a river after layers of mud and smaller rocks form, and metamorphic rocks are created when igneous and sedimentary rocks are changed dramatically by a lot of pressure and heat from the Earth.
I found out that Sedimentary rocks are mostly formed horizontally and fossils can be found in sedimentary rocks, I also learned that it takes millions of years of sediments to form rocks like this. I've learned that igneous rocks explode of of volcanoes or just flow out and cool, I've also learned that ash, lava and mud-flow build up volcanoes. I've learned that Metamorphic rocks can be cooked by magma and turned into another type of rock. I've also learned that the magma can push and pull the rocks, forming islands or little volcanoes as well as forming new rocks.
There are three different ways that rocks can form:
1- When rocky fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water or ice, they gradually cement together into new rocks, called sedimentary rocks. 2- When molten rock called magma rises up from the earth's mantle deep underground, it forms igneous rocks. 3- Sometimes sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed by forces inside the Earth. Extreme heat or pressure underground can bake, squeeze, or fold rocks into something new.
There are 3 types of rocks that can form. Sedimentary rocks are formed by fragments of other rocks being deposited in the same place and eventually they cement together and form sedimentary rocks.Igneous rocks are formed by magma from the earths mantle, when it rises up it forms an igneous rock. Some igneous rocks form while there is an eruption and others form in underground magma chambers.Metamorphic rocks are formed when an igneous or sedimentary rock gets changed by forces in the earth like extreme heat or extreme pressure.
The three types of rocks that form are, Sedimentary, Igneous and Metamorphic. Sedimentary rocks are formed from materials shifted from place to place. Water, Wind, Ice and Gravity are agents in making sedimentary rocks. Igneous rocks form from magma that rises up to the earth's surface. The magma is normally from deep in the mantle. Metamorphic rock is made when extreme heat or underground pressure causes the rocks to fold over and form metamorphic rock.
I found out they are 3 different types of rocks. Sedimentary rocks, Igneous rocks, and Metamorphic rocks. Sometimes Sedimentary and Igneous rocks are changed by force inside the Earth. I also found out that, Sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed by forces inside the Earth. Another thing I found out was that sometimes when molten rock called magma rises up from the earth's mantle, it forms Igneous rocks. Lastly, Metamorphic rocks are formed when sedimentary rocks is heated up by lava
metamorphosis is formed by sedimentary rock that has been heated up by lava. sedimentary rocks are formed when a bunch of rock particles stick together over a period of time. and igneous are formed when magma comes up from under the earths surface.
Kat Slattery@ I agree with your statements, great explanations. But for Sedimentary rocks, I would have added the fact about the fossils being found in these rocks as well. But other than that I agree with all of your facts.
I agree with you. I really like your answer; it is short and simple, but the idea of the videos is still there. However I think they are called metamorphic rocks, not metamorphosis rocks. Good answer!
there are three different types of rocks.hey are called sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous.extreme heat or pressure can change sedimentary rock or igneous rock into metamorphic.Sedimentary form in a river after layers of mud and little rocks form which causes the rocks.
There are three main types of rocks: sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic. Sedimentary rocks are formed when rock fragments and sediments are deposited together for thousands of years, and, eventually, they will bond together to form a new rock. Igneous rocks are formed when lava cools to form a rock. Metamorphic rocks are formed when sedimentary rocks are heated by lava, and then cools to form a new rock.
There are 3 diff. types of rocks, sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic. Igneous is formed when magma rises from inside the mantle. sedimentary forms in rives when layers of mud and tiny rocks form. metamorphic forms when igneous and sedimentary rock are changed.
Cara Roche@I agree with most of your statements but in the very beginning I would have put igneous rocks instead of molten. But other than that I agree with your paragraph, all of your facts are great and you explained them well.
There are three types of rocks, Sedimentary, Igneous, and Metaphoric. Sedimentary rocks are formed slowly in rivers, layers of small rocks, and mud. Igneous is made when molten rock called Magma rises up from the Earth's under ground. Metaphoric is when Sedimentary and Igneous are altered at extreme conditions.
There are three different ways that rocks can form: Sedimentary:When rocky fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water or ice, they gradually cement together into new rocks, called sedimentary rocks. In these rocks you can often find fossils embedded into the rock.
Igneous rocks:When Volcanoes erupt volcanic material rises up from the earth's mantle deep underground and forms igneous rocks.
Metamorphic:When sedimentary and Igneous rocks are changed dramatically by extreme heat or pressure. These rocks underground can bake, squeeze, or fold into something new. When that happens they are call metamorphic rocks
one type of rock was sedimentary rock is rock formed by pieces of rocks that move over time by wind water and ice and after a while the presure/gravity pushes the rocks together forming horizontal layers of rocks another was igneous it is formed by lava that comes onto the the earths surface after a while the layers of cooled lava will start to form a volcano then whee the volcano erupts ash and other material also help form layers.rock and the last was metamorphic rock it is formed by magma that can not get to the surface to form a volcano because there is no way for it get out instead it pushes the rock above it up and then the lava cools inside of the rock forming metamorphic rock.
the three types of rocks are sedimentary, molten, and metamorphic rocks. SEDIMENTARY- formed by materials moving from one place to another.usually forms i horizontal layers. MOLTEN-is formed from lava, forms igneous rocks. METAMORPHIC-when rocks go in extreme heat or pressure underground to form something new.
@Kathrine I agree with you. And also I didn't know that metaphoric in Greek means "A change of form". Was that in the video because I didn't catch that. ?
To form metamorphic rocks, you need pressure heat or folding. But if there is too much pressure or too much heat. Could these rocks crack, break or even melt?
There are 3 types of rocks: sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous. Sedimentary rocks are small fragments of rocks that are collected together by wind, water, or ice to form new rocks over thousands of years. Igneous rocks are formed when magma rises up from the earth's mantle. Metamorphic rocks are sediment or heated.
@Lexi McAfee... I agree with your answer; however, I don't think that you clearly gave an answer for Metamorphic rocks. Metamorphic rocks are rocks that have been changed through pressure, heat, chemicals, etc. Your answer is not complete sentence, it was probably a typo. Your other answers were accurate and complete though.
@ Brad Weidner... You answer was really thorough. I think that you should include that metamorphic comes from Greek meaning a change in form. That was the only thing that I found in need of critiquing. GR8!
there are three main types of rocks they are formed from years and years in fact millions of pressure sedimentary is formed from other rocks under pressure for millions of years metamorphic rock forms when sedimentary or igneous rock change dramatically due to earths forces such as extreme heat or pressure
Mrs.Hoffman, VIDEO#1-As the sediment goes into the water it starts to fill up and form grass.VIDEO#2-When molten rock called magma rises up from the earth's mantle deep underground, it forms igneous rocks and it forms a volcano and soon enough the volcano starts to erupt.VIDEO#3-Sometimes sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed dramatically by forces inside the Earth. Extreme heat or pressure underground can bake, squeeze, or fold rocks into something new and causes an under water earthquake.
Mrs.Hoffman, 1. When rocky fragments and sediment are deposited by water, wind and ice they slowly cement together to make new rocks over time . Limestone and sandstone are common sedimentary rocks. You can often find fossils embedded in these rocks. 2. When molten rock or Magma rises up from the earth's mantle deep underground, it forms igneous rocks.Igneous rocks erupt from volcanoes as lava or pumice. 3. Sometimes sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed by forces inside the Earth.Extreme heat or pressure underground can bake, squeeze or fold rocks into something new. These are called metamorphic rocks.
For the first rock it is created by over years and years of cediment being built up more and more and over the years it is being built up more and more and once it is built up it turns into rocks but it takes a lot of years. The next rock is called molten rock it is created by when the earthes magma rices up then it rupters and the process starts to getting the rock formed witch once it rupters and the magma is out it turns into a rock. The next rock can form by all the heat or pressure from the under ground that builds up witch can make the rocks squeeze or it can also fold it into something else that is new. It is called a metaphoric rock that does all that.
The first vido I found out that in many years the water will disper from a river. The next vido I found out a volcano loses it peak. The last vido I found out how a volcano forms.
in the first video i seen a shell being turned into a rock after a long time because the soil. and in video 2 magma after a long time turns black and that is molten rock the 3 video rock pushed up by underground earthquakes or the plates
There are 3 types of rocks: sedimentary metamorphic and igneous. Sedimentary rocks are small fragments of rocks that are collected together by wind, water or ice to form new rocks over thousands of years. Igneous rocks are formed when magma rises up from the earth's mantle. Metamorphic rocks are sediment or heated.
i found that sedimentary rocks are formed by materials that been shifted from place to place also metamorphic rocks have changed by heat, pressure or a chemical reaction, over a geological time.
In the first video it was bout dirt over time pilling up to form land. In the last two videos they were about volcano's the second was and eruption that covered the ocean and made land . And the third one was about the pressure of the volcano pushing land up to form land.
Sedimentary rocks are formed when rock pieces and sediments build up over time, normally in a river or stream. When magma rises up from the Earth's mantle, it forms igneous rocks, it can erupt as lava or pumice. When sedimentary and igneous rock get moved and folded, it is called metamorphic rock, or "Change of form"
I learnd that over time sedimentary rock can tern a snail shell into a fossil, over time magma shouts out of the earths core and after a long time of this hapniing it forms volcano's, igenous rock can form cliffs and islands under or above water.
There are three different ways that rocks can form:
Sedimentary:When rocky fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water or ice, they gradually cement together into new rocks, called sedimentary rocks.
The three types of rock are sedimentary, igneous, metamorphic rocks. I learned that metamorphic rock is sedimentary and igneous rock as a new form. igneous rock is molten rock and sedimentary rock is sediment in the water.
The 3 rocks that form are Sedimentary,Metamorphic, and Igneous. Sedimentary rocks are formed when rock sediments are deposited by water, wind, or ice then the rock sediments gradually form into a rock. Metamorphic rocks are formed by sedimentary or igneous rocks being forced by extreme heat or pressure underground can bake, squeeze, or fold rocks into something new. Igneous rocks are formed when molten rock called magma rises up from the earth's mantle deep underground.
Rocks are exposed by geologic processes and time Sedimentary formations can still show the layers even when twisted and changed by earthquakes, volcanic heat and pressure. Sedimentary rocks limestone, sandstone are types of sedimentary rocks igneous rocks some igneous are erupted volcanoes as pumice, like granite, form in underground magma chambers.
After many years the ocean floor rises and becomes dry land. After many years the volcano's top begins to melt away went it erupts. After many years the magma in the earth rises and forms mountainous.
I think it sucks that the snail had too die but seriesly people the main reason for this tradigey was the soil and rocks barring the poor thing was the earths fault and the earth sifting over the years.
There are types of rocks.Sedimentary rock is formed by layers of sediment under pressure for millions of years. Metamorphic rock has been changed by heat, pressure,or chemical action, over geological time. Igneous rock are created by extreme heat or pressure.
Igneous rocks form from magma that rises up to the earth's surface.Sedimentary rocks are formed when fragments and sediments are joined together by wind, water or ice which gradually join together, forming rocks.Metamorphic rocks are made from the transformation of existing rock types. All of these rocks make up the earths crust.

3 different types of rocks are sedimentary rocks that are formed by materials that have been shifted from place to place many times. Igneous rock is formed by when magma rises from the earth surface deep underground. metamorphic rocks are formed by when extreme heat or pressure underground cause bake, folding of rock, and squeezing making something new.

ReplyDeleteI agree because the rocks are all made in different ways, including sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous.
Deletei agree because they are formed in different ways and that Ignegous rocks ARE formed by cooled lava
DeleteI found out that they all were created by some type of erosion. And they all began by Lava Hot lava and millions of years of pressure.
ReplyDeleteSedimentary rocks are formed by sediment under pressure for many years. In a volcano the magma will build up at the plug and erupt after time. Metamorphic rock is sedimentary rock that's heated up by lava.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jacob that sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks are all formed by different prostheses.
DeleteI agree with jacob. Except he forgot the ignepus rock those are formed by cooled lava. Otherwise, all his other facts are true.

DeleteThere are three major types of rocks Igneous, Metamorphic and Sedimentary.
ReplyDeleteYour comment was very interesting it shows alot of statistics of which i rarely get to see, good job lousia A+.
DeleteThere are three different types of rocks.
ReplyDeleteI agree and i like detail
DeleteThere are three different types of rocks. There is igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. Igneous rocks are formed because it is cooled lava. Sedimentary rock is formed by layers of sediment under pressure for millions of years. And metamorphic rock is formed by sedimentary rock heated by lava. ReplyDeleteYou are correct sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic are the three types of rocks but I think you should add a little description about each one.
DeleteSedimentary rocks, Igneous rocks, metamorphic rocks, they are formed due to earth forces and pressure.
ReplyDeleteSome rocks are formed by rocky fragments, and sediments deposited together by wind, water or ice. Then, over thousands of years, cement together into new rocks.
ReplyDeleteThat is true, and those types of rocks are called sedimentary rocks.

ReplyDeleteGood job lots of infoemation
DeleteI found out that sedimentary rocks are formed by sediments carried by a river. Igneous rocks are formed by molten lava and then cools, creating Igneous rocks. Metamorphic rocks are created when sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed dramatically by extreme pressure and heat from the Earth.
ReplyDeleteIgneous rocks like Granite can form in lava cambers not all igneous rocks form on the earths surface.
DeleteI found that some rocks are formed by small chunks of racks and sediments formed together by wind water or ice. Some rocks are formed by volcanic eruptions. Some rocks change dramatically by intense heat and pressure from the earth.
ReplyDeleteI agree that some are formed by heat and pressure from the earth.
DeleteSedimentary rocks are formed at the bottom of river beds when layers upon layers of mud and rock lay on top of each other and eventually harden into rock.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they could be formed in the magma chambers...
DeleteSedimentary rocks can also have sand be packed into them, not just mud and rock.
Deletei agree with zach i didnt they could be formed underground.
DeleteThere are three main types of rocks. They are formed from years and years of pressure. Sedimentary rock , is formed from other rocks under pressure for long perods of times About a million years.Metamorphic rocks are formed when sedimentary rocks or igneous rocks change because of the earth's forces like extreme heat and pressure.
ReplyDeleteRoss Campbell
Sedimentary rocks are formed when fragments of rock and/or sand get packed together by the wind, water, or ice, and then are gradually cemented together into new shapes o rocks.
ReplyDeleteMolten rock (or magma) rises to the surface of the earth, and they solidify to form igneous rocks.
ReplyDeleteIgneous rocks=When molten rock called magma rises up from the earth's underground it forms igneous rocks.
Metamorphic rock=Extreme heat or pressure underground bakes, squeezes and folds rocks into something new.making metamorphic rock.
~Taylar herbers
For metamorphic rocks, heated sedimentary or igneous make them, just thought I'd say that.
Delete@ Taylar
DeleteI agree with what you said
Sedimentary is when soil or silt and other things are deposited in layers and dry forming a rock.
ReplyDeleteIgneous is when magma is deposited on the surface and forms a rock.
Metamorphic is when sedimentary and igneous are altered at extreme conditions.
By extreme conditions, you mean extreme heat and pressure, right?
DeleteThat is what i ment
DeleteThe 3 different types of rocks are sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you! Good job Jalynn!
Deleteon video 1 I see that over time sediment covers the land and begins to layer.
ReplyDeleteon video 2 I see volcano ash make rocks with the lava to create pumice.
on video 3 I see rock create from magma that comes up from the earth to create islands
That doesn't really describe how the rocks are made, you should have read the captions instead of just watching the video.
Delete@ Zack Schmidt,
ReplyDeleteI found it really cool that igneous rocks are created by molten lava & then cools.
ReplyDelete@bryant winters I didn't see that part. about how there fourmed at the bottom of rivers
ReplyDeleteThere are 3 different types of rocks; Sedimentary, Igneous, and Metamorphic. and all are formed differently. ReplyDeleteIgneous rocks are formed when molten rock called magma rises from the mantle.
ReplyDeleteSedimentary Rocks are formed from materials that have shifted from place to place, often many times.

ReplyDeletethere is the sedimentary rocks and they have been aroundf for millions of years well actually all rocks have been around for millions of years. Also there is the molten rocks as well. It is formed by lava that has erupted in the past and hardened and formed a rock. Then there is the metamorphic rock which means change of form in greek.
ReplyDeleteSedimentary rocks are formed from materials shifted from place to place. When molten rock rises from the earth's mantle it forms igneous rock. Metamorphic rocks are formed my extreme heat and pressure.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you on how igneous rocks our formed.
Delete@Maddie:
ReplyDeleteI learned the same things you did, and I agree with what you say. When I saw that sedimentary and igneous rocks could be changed dramatically to make metamorphic rocks, I thought it was really cool but I forgot to write it down.

ReplyDeleteIgneous rocks are made of solidified molten magma, so that makes some sense.

ReplyDeletemetamorphosis rocks are igneous or sedimentary rocks that have been changed by heat or pressure. Igneous rocks are rocks made out of cooled lava. Sedimentary rocks are made out of rock particles stuck together over a period of time.
ReplyDeleteAren't they called "metamorphic" rocks, not "metamorphosis" rocks?

DeleteSorry, I wasn't sure which one it was.
Delete@ Nate
ReplyDeletethe molten rock is actually called igneous rock.
@ Bailee
DeleteThe molten rock is only called igneous once it cools and hardens.
well its not a rock till it hardens right? or is it? i dont know
DeleteYeah it lava until it hardens, but Nate was talking about before it cools.
DeleteThe 3 types of rocks are , sedimentary, metamorphic, and molten rock. Sedimentary rocks are formed by, wind, water or ice, they gradually come together forming new rocks. Metamorphic rocks are formed by, Extreme heat or pressure underground can turn into new rocks. When molten rock called magma rises up from the earth's mantle deep underground it forms a new rock(igneous).
ReplyDeleteI think its cool how metamorphic rock forms. What do you think is the coolest rock?
DeleteI think it cool how sedimentary rocks form because they start out as particals and form one rock.
DeleteThats true, but i still like metamorphic. Then sedimentary.
DeleteWhat about Igneous? Molten rock and volcanoes, that's pretty cool right?
DeleteYeah, but i still like the other two better.

I also think that when little rocky fragments are deposited by wind, water, or ice even.
Deleteare there different types of metamorphic rock?
Delete@ Budde
DeleteI do not know if that could happen it would be fun to test it out though.
There are different types of metamorphic rocks but I don't Know if put it back in the same conditions would change the type.Mabey if it was different but similar amounts of pressure and heat.

ReplyDeleteSedimentary rocks are formed from layers of sediment that are pushed together and exposed to geologic processes and slowly become rocks.
ReplyDeleteIgneous rocks are formed from magma that has cooled and hardened into rocks
Metamorphic rocks are rocks that have changed form through heat pressure or chemicals. Metamorphic comes from Greek meaning "a change of form."
ReplyDeleteGood description for each one. I wonder how long it would take for a sedimentary rock to form.
Delete@ Finn
DeleteYeah, that's a good question my guess is at least 250 years for a sedimentary rock to form.
@ Finn
DeleteYeah, that's a good question. I think it will take at least 250 years to form.
The three rock types are igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. Igneous rocks form when magma rises up from the Earths mantle.
ReplyDeleteSedimentary form in a river after layers of mud and smaller rocks form, and metamorphic rocks are created when igneous and sedimentary rocks are changed dramatically by a lot of pressure and heat from the Earth.
Igneous rocks are also formed in underground magma chambers not just when magma rises from the earths mantle.
Deletetrue, true. Good reading.
DeleteI found out that Sedimentary rocks are mostly formed horizontally and fossils can be found in sedimentary rocks, I also learned that it takes millions of years of sediments to form rocks like this.
ReplyDeleteI've learned that igneous rocks explode of of volcanoes or just flow out and cool, I've also learned that ash, lava and mud-flow build up volcanoes.
I've learned that Metamorphic rocks can be cooked by magma and turned into another type of rock. I've also learned that the magma can push and pull the rocks, forming islands or little volcanoes as well as forming new rocks.
There are three different ways that rocks can form:
ReplyDelete1- When rocky fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water or ice, they gradually cement together into new rocks, called sedimentary rocks.

ReplyDeleteThat is a really good answer you covered all they information in the videos.
DeleteThe three types of rocks that form are, Sedimentary, Igneous and Metamorphic.

ReplyDeleteKat Slattery@ I agree with your statements, great explanations. But for Sedimentary rocks, I would have added the fact about the fossils being found in these rocks as well. But other than that I agree with all of your facts.

ReplyDeleteThere are three main types of rocks: sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic.
ReplyDeleteThere are 3 diff. types of rocks, sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic. Igneous is formed when magma rises from inside the mantle. sedimentary forms in rives when layers of mud and tiny rocks form. metamorphic forms when igneous and sedimentary rock are changed.
ReplyDeleteCara Roche@I agree with most of your statements but in the very beginning I would have put igneous rocks instead of molten. But other than that I agree with your paragraph, all of your facts are great and you explained them well.
ReplyDelete@ jenna
DeleteWell they start out as molten rock, but I see your point.
ReplyDeletei like how you explained in detail how the rocks were formed.
DeleteThere are three different ways that rocks can form:
ReplyDeleteSedimentary:When rocky fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water or ice, they gradually cement together into new rocks, called sedimentary rocks. In these rocks you can often find fossils embedded into the rock.

Metamorphic:When sedimentary and Igneous rocks are changed dramatically by extreme heat or pressure. These rocks underground can bake, squeeze, or fold into something new. When that happens they are call metamorphic rocks
@ Brad
Deletegood detail for all of them. I bet there is a lot of fossils in a sedimentary rock.
@Brad
DeleteI bet there is a lot of fossils in a sedimentary rock because of dinos.
one type of rock was sedimentary rock is rock formed by pieces of rocks that move over time by wind water and ice and after a while the presure/gravity pushes the rocks together forming horizontal layers of rocks another was igneous it is formed by lava that comes onto the the earths surface after a while the layers of cooled lava will start to form a volcano then whee the volcano erupts ash and other material also help form layers.rock and the last was metamorphic rock it is formed by magma that can not get to the surface to form a volcano because there is no way for it get out instead it pushes the rock above it up and then the lava cools inside of the rock forming metamorphic rock.
ReplyDelete@ Jenna Bertke...
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. You have a very thorough answer and I learned that magma can push rocks around forming new islands or volcanoes.
the three types of rocks are sedimentary, molten, and metamorphic rocks.
ReplyDeleteSEDIMENTARY- formed by materials moving from one place to another.usually forms i horizontal layers.
MOLTEN-is formed from lava, forms igneous rocks.
METAMORPHIC-when rocks go in extreme heat or pressure underground to form something new.
@Kathrine
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. And also I didn't know that metaphoric in Greek means "A change of form". Was that in the video because I didn't catch that. ?
@ Budde
ReplyDeleteTo form metamorphic rocks, you need pressure heat or folding.
ReplyDelete@Brad
ReplyDeleteWell, the heat, folding, or pressure forms the rock, so how can the rock crack before its even a rock?
@ finn
ReplyDeleteIf you take a metamorphic rock and add more and more pressure and heat could you change it back into its Sedimentary or Igneous form?
@ Brad
DeleteGood question. No I don't think it works like that I think it would just keep on changing.
@ Budde's @ Brad
ReplyDeleteNo like once it turns into a rock could heat or pressure melt the rock or crack it?
@ Brad
DeleteI would think so if it got so hot.
@Brad
DeleteOhh. I see what you are saying. I don't know. Do you think that the pressure could change the type of metamorphic rock?
@Lexi McAfee...
ReplyDeleteI agree with your answer; however, I don't think that you clearly gave an answer for Metamorphic rocks. Metamorphic rocks are rocks that have been changed through pressure, heat, chemicals, etc. Your answer is not complete sentence, it was probably a typo. Your other answers were accurate and complete though.
@ Brad Weidner...
ReplyDeleteYou answer was really thorough. I think that you should include that metamorphic comes from Greek meaning a change in form. That was the only thing that I found in need of critiquing. GR8!
I found out that rocks are exposed by sedimentary & time & a volcano loses some of it's peak when it erupts.-Dominic Deutsch
ReplyDeletethere are three main types of rocks they are formed from years and years in fact millions of pressure sedimentary is formed from other rocks under pressure for millions of years metamorphic rock forms when sedimentary or igneous rock change dramatically due to earths forces such as extreme heat or pressure
ReplyDeletei do agree with u brady ur post has alot of information about this topic.
Deletewhen the volcano erupts rocks come out so all we know is rocks come out of volcano so thats how we have rocks today .
ReplyDeleteCAN YOU EXPLAN IT MORE
DeleteMrs.Hoffman,

ReplyDeleteMrs.Hoffman,
ReplyDelete1. When rocky fragments and sediment are deposited by water, wind and ice they slowly cement together to make new rocks over time . Limestone and sandstone are common sedimentary rocks. You can often find fossils embedded in these rocks.

3. Sometimes sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed by forces inside the Earth.Extreme heat or pressure underground can bake, squeeze or fold rocks into something new. These are called metamorphic rocks.
~Kylie Lonneman
i agree.
DeleteKylie I like how you put numbers in front of the diffrent types of rock so that Mrs.Hoffman could tell the diffrences in the rocks.
DeleteFor the first rock it is created by over years and years of cediment being built up more and more and over the years it is being built up more and more and once it is built up it turns into rocks but it takes a lot of years.
ReplyDeleteThe next rock is called molten rock it is created by when the earthes magma rices up then it rupters and the process starts to getting the rock formed witch once it rupters and the magma is out it turns into a rock.

ReplyDeleteIn the first video it was bout dirt over time pilling up to form land. In the last two videos they were about volcano's the second
ReplyDeletewas and eruption that covered the ocean and made land . And the third one was about the pressure of the volcano pushing land up to form land.
there are many kinds of diffrent rocks because there are many other types of lava in the volcano
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of different kinds of rocks, also many ways they form.
ReplyDeleteDidn't you learn more, like how they are formed and what they are called when they get folded?
Deleteyou need more info i found a lot in the video.
Deleteyou know there are lot more types of rocks and minerals then you think Olivia O. + listed
DeleteThere are many kind of diffrent rocks because there are many
ReplyDeleteother types of lave in the volcano and same thing in back together.
Sedimentary rocks are formed when rock pieces and sediments build up over time, normally in a river or stream.
ReplyDeleteWhen magma rises up from the Earth's mantle, it forms igneous rocks, it can erupt as lava or pumice.

The 3 rocks that form are Sedimentary,Metamorphic, and Igneous. Sedimentary rocks are formed when rock sediments are deposited by water, wind, or ice then the rock sediments gradually form into a rock.
ReplyDeleteMetamorphic rocks are formed by sedimentary or igneous rocks being forced by extreme heat or pressure underground can bake, squeeze, or fold rocks into something new.

Deletewhat rocks
After many years the ocean floor rises and becomes dry land. After many years the volcano's top begins to melt away went it erupts. After many years the magma in the earth rises and forms mountainous.
ReplyDeleteI think it sucks that the snail had too die but seriesly people the main reason for this tradigey was the soil and rocks barring the poor thing was the earths fault and the earth sifting over the years.
ReplyDeleteNo the snail dieing is awesome.
DeleteThere are types of rocks.Sedimentary rock is formed by layers of sediment under pressure for millions of years. Metamorphic rock has been changed by heat, pressure,or chemical action, over geological time. Igneous rock are created by extreme heat or pressure.

ReplyDeleteI agree with your statement because there are many different kinds of rock...there called metamorphic, sedimentary, and igneous.
Metamorphic rocks Metamorphic is Greek Language for Change of form i forgot this rock so sorry.
ReplyDeleteIgneous rocks form from magma that rises up to the earth's surface.Sedimentary rocks are formed when fragments and sediments are joined together by wind, water or ice which gradually join together, forming rocks.Metamorphic rocks are made from the transformation of existing rock types. All of these rocks make up the earths crust.
ReplyDeleteSedimentary rocks are made when rocky fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water, or ice. There are three types of rock, Igneous, Metamorphic, and Sedimentary. You can often find fossils in these rocks.Metamorphic rock is formed when igneous and sedimentary rocks change dramatacly inside the earth from heat or pressure.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you completely cj
Delete3 different types of rocks are sedimentary rocks that are formed by materials that have been shifted from place to place many times. Igneous rock is formed by when magma rises from the earth surface deep underground. metamorphic rocks are formed by when extreme heat or pressure underground cause bake, folding of rock, and squeezing making something new.
ReplyDeleteWhen rocky fragments and sediments are deposited together by wind, water and ice, they gradually over thousands or more years cement together into new rocks, called sedimentary rocks. When molten rock called magma rises up from the earth's mantle deep underground,
ReplyDeleteit forms igneous rocks.Sometimes sedimentary and igneous rocks are changed dramatically by forces inside the earth.Extreme heat or
pressure underground can bake, squeeze,or fold rocks into something new. Then they are called metamorphic rocks.
