Over the weekend, Japan experienced an earthquake. What was the magnitude of this earthquake? Was there fear of a tsunami? What caused this earthquake? Check out the following link:
The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.1 There wasn't a fear of a tsunami because a warning was not issued. The earthquake happened because Japan is on the "Ring Of Fire" and about 90% of the world's earthquakes occur there.
The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.0. There was no fear of an earthquake. Since Japan is located along The Ring of Fire it experiences a lot of earthquakes.
The magnitude of the earth quake was 6.1 that earth quake on march 11 magnitude was 9.0 so the difference was great. They did not issue a tsunami warning so there was no fear. The earth quake happened because japan is located on the ring of fire which has 90% of earth quakes.
The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.1. There was no fear of a tsunami because they didn't expect one. Japan lies on the "Ring of Fire" — an arc of earthquake and volcanic zones that stretches around the Pacific Rim, so I think that's what caused the earthquake. About 90% of the world's quakes occur in the area.
the magnitude of the earth quake was 6.1. the fear of the tsunami was 6.0. Japan is located in the ring of fire which is an issue that caused such a disaster
The magnitude of the earthquale was 6.1. There was fear of a tsunami because earlier this year there was a tsunami that was caused by an earthquake, and there was a lot of damage. Japan lies in the Ring of Fire, a volcanic and earthquake zone, where 90% of the world's earthquakes occur in this area, which could have something to do with the happening of this earthquake.
@ Lorraine and Julia: 6.0 was the magnitude of the second earthquake that happened in Japan. 90% of the world's earthquakes happen at the "Ring Of Fire".
There may not have been a warning issued ofr a tsunami, but earlier this year, Japan experienced a major earthquake that led to a highly destructive tsunami, so there had to have been some fear.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 6.1.There was not a fear of a tsunami.Japan is located in the ring of fire and that is were 90% of the earthquakes take place.
@Alex Stevens there was no fear of the Tsunami because it wasn't a high destructive earthquake like earlier this year and they didn't issue a warning. The majority did not fear that another Tsunami would occur.
Joshua Zach We learned that the earthquake was quite strong. There wasnt a problem with tsunami's because there was no warning of one. The earthquake happened because Japan is in the ring of fire. We also learned Japan is very prone to earthquakes.
@ Alex Stevens, Well you don't know if there was fear about another tsunami. Most people could have figured out that since it wasn't as strong as the one earlier, that there might not be a tsunami
The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.1. There wasn't a fear of a tsunami because a warning wasn't issued. The earthquake happened because Japan is in the Ring of Fire, most earthquakes happen there.
The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.1 this was a very harsh earthquake and caused alot a damage. There was fear that there would be a tsunami because an earthquake caused a tsunami eariler that year.
There was a 6.1 magnitude and there was no tsunami warning. Kat: I hope that there is no tsunami in Japan Bailee: I agree cause ya know Japan has enough stuff going on. they don't need another thing to worry about. Meara: I think Japan has too many Earthquakes and I hope they are able to recover and that they stop having Earthquakes.
it was a 6.0 and 6.1 earthquake.there was no fear of a tsunami.it hapened because Japan lies on the Ring of Fire an arc of earthquake and volcanic zones that stretches around the Pacific Rim. About 90% of the world's quakes occur in the area.
The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.1. There wasn't a fear of a tsunami. The earthquake happened because Japan is located in the "Ring of Fire" That's where most of the earthquakes happen.
The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.1.Yes there was because usally in Japan after an earthquake there is a tsunami. The earthquake happened because Japan is on the ring of fire and 90% of the earth's earthquakes happen on the ring of fire.
@Lorraine & Julia Bailee:There was no fear of a tsunami what are you talking about? I am very confused. Note to Lorraine, do not let Julia type the responses. She has a few screws loose. Kat: I hope that there never is a fear of tsunami and an earthquake in Japan at the same time. Meara: I do not remember a fear of a tsunami. wouldn't a tsunami be terrible.
We feel bad for the poor people in Japan, they had a horrible earthquake and now they had another! Now they had even more to clean up. The earthquake's magnitude was 6.1! It must have damaged even more so those poor people have twice as much to clean up again and we're sure it stopped any progress they were making of cleaning it up. Many people feared tsunamis would hit because this was a huge earthquake and sadly for them, one did hit. The cause of the earthquakes was the moment of the tectonic plates, which cause most earthquakes. We both hope that Japan soon recovers and that no more earthquakes ravage poor Japan, or they at least build more sturdy homes.
I agree, the people in Japan have suffered a lot. I think they need to build sturdier homes, like you said. It's horrible what they've been through, but it is likely there will be another because they are in the ring of fire.
@Sam Gunther and Charlie Raines Do you think that this could be some sort of aftershock from the first earthquake? We think so because it's a bit strange such strong earthquakes happened around the same time.
Bailee: I know that is sad that they are in one of the most frequent earthquake spots and they don't have time to repair the damages that one quake caused before they get another one. Kat: I do not feel that I would like to live in such an area. I do not feel that the risk is worth it to have a nice house in that area. It seems like it is very costly to do such a thing. Meara: It would be terrible to live in such a catastrophic area. they have hardly any time to fix the previous damages and now they have to cope with this.
The magnitude of that earthquake was 6.0. Their fear was to lose alot of lives and homes.The thing that caused the earthquake was the plates.Another thing that I learned was that earthquakes can sometime cause tsunamis.
@Connor Zang We can't agree with you about there being no fear of tsunamis, in fact one actually happened because of that earthquake so we're sure they would have feared a little at least. But we can agree that this has happened because of Japan being in the Ring of Fire, poor Japan has had to deal with so much...
Japan lies on the "Ring of Fire" — an arc of earthquake and volcanic zones that stretches around the Pacific Rim. About 90% of the world's quakes occur in the area.
that is weird that there was another earthquake in japan it might be a coincidence but it might be that is because the earthquake a few months ago because the two plates might still be messed up.:)

ReplyDeleteIt said that the agency did not issue that tsunami!
sorry about that the fear was really the reality of the earthquake and tsunami happening again

@ Alex Stevens
ReplyDeleteI think by "fear" they meant the probability of an earthquake happening, not human beings' fear. :)
@Jenny and Abby
ReplyDeleteThe article did not say what caused the tsunami because there was no tsunami
@Lorrain and Julia
ReplyDeleteTHERE WAS NO FEAR OF A TSUNAMI!!!
6.1/6.0/9.0,yes/volcano erupted and shock the ground. There was not fear of a tsunami. It happened because japan is in the ring of fire.

@ Julia and Lorraine
ReplyDeleteHow was there a fear of and earthquake????
@Wade
ReplyDeleteThere was no volcano and it was only 6.1?
The magnitude of the earthquake was 6.1. There wasn't a fear of a tsunami because a warning wasn't issued. The earthquake happened because Japan is in the Ring of Fire, most earthquakes happen there.
