As we start the 4th quarter, think back over the year. We have studied space, the rotation and revolution of the Earth, the phases of the moon, the sun, stars, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, rocks and minerals. What has been your favorite topic this year? What was your favorite activity we did this year? Is there another activity you wish we would have done?
What are you looking forward to doing as we study weather? Any topic you hope that we cover? Any specific activity you hope we do?
Hard to believe we are down to about 9 weeks of school!
My favorite topic to study was the phases of the moon. when I look at the moon I can see what the phase is and whether the moon is waxing or waning.I really liked studying weather in fourth grade and I especially liked studying the high and low pressure and how it affects what we feel on earth. I also want to learn how meteorologists predict the weather.
ReplyDeletei think the high and low pressure is a good one to learn about . and i allso argree on studying weather is a good theing because on the paatters the hot and cold front .
DeleteMy favorite topic was about space and my favorite activity was the one with the light and the phases of the moon. I wish we could have done the journey through space CD and projector I brought. It is a very fun activity.
ReplyDeleteI am also very excited for the weather unit. It was very fun in the fourth grade and I hope it will be now.
DeleteI wanted to see that activity. I wish we did.
DeleteI really liked the activities about the volcanoes because it one of our few hands on experiments and we got to erupt volcanoes. Also liked the rocks and mineral project too. I wish we would have done a experiment on earthquakes. I think it would be fun to do a weather forecast or make an contraption that can collect rain that is made from scratch.
ReplyDeleteI also really liked the volcanoes activity because we got to erupt the volcanoes but only if we could have made the volcanoes as a project.
DeleteWe also wish we could do more hands on activaties it was fun.
DeleteMy favorite subject that we studied this year was volcanoes. My favorite activity\experiment this year was when we pored the baking soda and vinegar in the volcano. I don't have a specific topic or activity that I would like to study or do for weather though.
ReplyDeleteWe agree with your statement. Maggie and I both liked the volcano activity too. Was there anything else that you wanted to learn in this activity or done anything else beside that?
DeleteMaggie: Yes, I am excited for weather! I want to cover storms and tornadoes. My favorite topic was volcanoes, I liked erupting the volcanoes. I wish we had done more with the water cycle. For weather, I hope we look at how radars work.
ReplyDeleteSarah: My favorite topic this year was volcanoes too. I had many favorite activities but my most favorite was the eruption with the chemicals and baking soda. I wish we would have done more eruption experiments, and studied the volcanoes more. I am looking forward to know more about how the process of the cycle works and how it happens. I also hope that we can work on another project, but it will be about weathering.
I think it would be cool to learn about storms too.
DeleteMaggie is very scared of storms. Sarah is also. Every time there is a storm, Maggie freaks out. She studies the radar. Sarah sits there and laughs.
Delete@ Sarah
DeleteI agree with you! I think it would be very interesting to know about the cycle that happens in the middle of the storm and what would happen if you got in the middle of one.
My favorite part this year would be learning the phases of the moon. I liked making the volcanoes explode. I would of like to see the activity Bailee brought in. It looked interesting.
ReplyDeleteI liked doing the planet and moon activities in class. Activities have all ways been more fun then work sheets and i feel like i learn more from them as well!
ReplyDelete@ Smith, William...
DeleteI agree the planet activities were very fun and I learned a lot, especially from the activity with the moon and the light where we had to turn the moon. I did not really know how the moon went through its phases until we did that.
That's exactly what i was thinking about!
DeleteI think that I learn more from the hands on activities too because on the worksheets we do the same thing over and over again so it doesn't really help us.
Deletei think hands on activites are way better learning then not hands activities
DeleteMy favorite topic was Moon Phases, and Volcanoes. My favorite activities was erupting volcanoes because it was one of the few experiments we did this year, I also liked learning about Rocks & Minerals because of the little projects we did. I wish we could have learned about the planets more, like statistics and if there is a possibility that life could be found on that planet. I hope we learn more about thunder storms.I hope we can do another project or experiment for this topic.
ReplyDeleteO, yah, Volcanoes were cool
DeleteBut i like all the space activities more
Delete@ Saaraa Bloemker
DeleteI want to learn how thunderstorms form. I really want to learn about how they form and what makes lightning happen and where the energy comes from. I think that it would be interesting to learn about tornadoes and what happens in storms.
I liked learning about volcanoes this year because we got to do a couple fun activities. My favorite activity we did this year is when we made the volcanoes. I hope we will do an activity on how radars pick up storms so accurately.
ReplyDeleteI liked the volcanoes because the activity was fun and interesting.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite subject this year has been the phases of the moon. My favorite activity has been the rocks and minerals project. I wish we had gone more into the space subject, though. I am looking forward to the study of weather. There isn't any specific things I hope we do, I just hope we do a project, or something.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the activities about the volcanoes because we got to make volcanoes erupt. My favorite activity this year was when we made the explosive volcanoes.I wish we did a earthquake activity.I hope we talk about how tornadoes form.
ReplyDeleteMrs.Hoffman,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite topic has been studying Plate Tectonics. My favorite activity was when we turned all the lights off and we seen the rotation of the planets the and the stars.I wish we would have cut open animals like 8th grade did.I am looking forward to making a flood. No not really.I won't to really make a flood.
Mya Hill,
DeleteI like your post.It sounds like the stars and planet rotation thing was but I was absent that day so didn't get to see it.
~Kylie Lonneman
@Sam Gunther,
ReplyDeleteI liked studying about volcanoes and did you like doing the volcano eruptions.
i like doing the experiment but i wish we would of done more
DeleteMy favorite activity was the project when I came up with an idea for the Science Football League. I think I might even do a Social Studies Baseball Association.-Dominic Deutsch
ReplyDeletemy favorite topic was valcanos and my favorite was when we did the valcano models and made stuff come out of them. Although i wish we would had mad a valcano. i dont know what to look forward to as we study weather. the topic we should go over is chemicals. i think we should do an activaty with chemicals.
ReplyDeletei think it was fun doing the volcanoe experiment sort of experiment i wish we done more thow
Deletelearning about volcanos.that one rock project. more expirements that had cool reactions to the experiments like cooler results.i really dont now becuse there really nothing that i can think of that would be fun to do. yes and no to 9 weeks left
ReplyDelete(volcaneo )
ReplyDeletethis one is my faviorte topic because i like theings that explode in hot lava or in diffent ways . we learn evertheing that we need to it was nice and instreing. \
how weather forms and how it hits at werid times , ? one other theing is how weather contructs a pattern during days of week and weekands .
i think we should all learn how to stop the weather pattern and forms . and allso when the weather is comeing to get to saftey orbe prepared .
Ms.Dietrich,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite topic of the year was volcanoes because we got to experiment the different types of volcanoes with vingar and baking soda.A activity I wish we could do is have project were we have to make a volcano that erupts.I look forward to looking at thunder storms and how thunder and lighting happen.
~Kylie Lonneman
my favorite is the valcaneose and how when they erupt and then they for very many different rock and most rocks in the world came from valcanoes
ReplyDelete-ray wink
my favorite activities was erupting volcanoes because of how cool they are they makes rock they explode it is the coolest one on the list to choose
ReplyDeletekyle bearse
We really liked this activities about the volcanoes because it one of our few activities that we could touch and we got to erupt volcanoes. Also we liked the rocks and mineral project too. We wish that we could of done a weather project. We think it would be fun to do a weather forecast or make a thing that could collect water that came from the sky.
ReplyDeleteMy Favorite topic this year is the moon cycle because it was fun how we really tried to reenact the movement of the moon. When we all rotated around the lightbullb that was are sun and we had are stirofom ball on the pencil as are moon. There is no other activities I wish we could have done . When we study how the sun heats up the earth and every thing on it. The earth and the suns relacenship. No there is no specific activates we want to do.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite topic was learning about volcanoes. My favorite activity we did with volcanoes was when we used the plastic volcanoes and we tested viscosity of the magma but I wish we could have made our own volcanoes. I look forward to learning about weather and I would like to learn more about thunderstorms and tornadoes. I would like to do a project on tornadoes or make our own tornado!
ReplyDeletethe moon cycle because it was fun how we really tried to reenact the movement of the moon
ReplyDeleteI really liked the activities about the volcanoes because it one of our few hands on experiments and we got to erupt volcanoes. Also liked the rocks and mineral project too. I wish we would have done a experiment on earthquakes. I think it would be fun to do a weather forecast or make an contraption that can collect rain.
ReplyDelete@ Dj Hisle I agree with you it was really fun to do that
ReplyDeleteVolcanoes was the most interesting thing this year because we got to simulate the volcanoes and saw how they work. We also liked the rocks and minerals project. We wish we could of done a earthquake simulation because that would have been epic. We are looking forward to tornadoes because we hope we can make a tornado simulation.
ReplyDeleteWe thought the volcanoes were also very interesting. We also think that an earthquake simulation would be cool.
DeleteOh yeah! That was a really cool activity! An earthquake simulation would be cool, too!
DeleteWe liked the volcanoes. We both liked it when we made the volcanoes but we wish we could have done it where it was more explosive, than just have it ooze out. We look forward to doing fun labs or fun projects. We hope we cover tornadoes, and do some fun things with them. No not really.
ReplyDeleteWe also liked the volcanoes. If it was more explosive it would have been a lot more epic. We also think it would be fun to do some cool things with tornadoes.
DeleteOur favorite activity was when we held the "moons" on the stick and we looked at the phases. Our favorite topic was the volcanoes. We would've liked to go outside and looked at rocks and minerals. We are looking forward to studying tornadoes.
ReplyDeleteOur favorite topic we have done this year has been learning about volcanoes. Our favorite activity we have done this year is the one where we did a volcano eruption. We wish we could have made a more bigger and realistic volcano. As we study weather, we aren't really hoping to study anything specific. For activities, we just want to do something that involves being outside.
ReplyDelete@Jalynn,Murphy,Maddie
DeleteWe agree Volcanoes was our favorite too. We think it would have been fun to make real volcanoes from scratch with vinegar and baking soda. That what we were hoping to do. Do think that would more interesting.
Our favorite topic that we went over this year was volcanoes. Our favorite activity was when we got to explode the volcano and had the top fly off. An activity that i wished we would have done this year is make our own volcano out of papermache as a project. We are excited to learn about how differnt types of weather is created including wind. An activity we would like to do for weather is measure the rainfall for a month kind of like what we did with the moon.
ReplyDelete~Brooke C and Taylar H
Our favorite topic was on the astronomy. Our favorite activity was the one where we saw how erosion affected how the ground and soil affected the wildlife and how people lived on eroding soil.We wish we could have gone down to the creek and looked at the rocks and minerals native to this city. We are looking forward to looking at the patterns in the weather, such as how much rain we get every year. We would like to go cloud watching and identify the different kind of clouds.
ReplyDeleteWe also think that it would be fun to go down to the creek to collect Cincinnatian rocks and minerals. It would be an interesting and educational little field trip.
Delete@ Rachel Schiller:
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed the volcano unit too, and making our own volcanoes would have been fun to do. We never thought of tornadoes while studying weather, and we think that will be fun to do also!
our favorite topic was Volcanoes.WE thought the activity where we erupt the volcanoes was fun.I wish we could have done an activity on Earthquakes.I am looking forward to learning how tornadoes form and how wind forms.
ReplyDeleteAbby- My favorite activity this year was the volcanoes.
ReplyDeleteJen- My favorite activity this year was also the volcano activities.
Brynn- My favorite activity this year was also... the volcano activity...
Jen- Yes, I am looking forward to learning about weather.
Brynn- Weather isn't my favorite subject...
Abby- I have to agree with Brynn on this.
Jen- My favorite topic this year has been the space topic.
Brynn- My favorite topic this year was rocks and minerals.
Abby-I liked rocks and minerals the best.
Jen- I hope we study tornadoes.
Abby- I hope to study hurricanes.
Brynn- I hope to study natural disasters...
Abby- I hope we do that activity were you make a tornado in those pop bottles.
@Brynn
DeleteWhat do you not like about weather?
@Jen
My favorite was also space.
I enjoyed the volcano activities and the moon phases activity. My favorite topic was earthquakes. I wish that we would have done more hands on activities. I look forward to learning how rocks change due to weathering and erosion. There is no specific activity or topic we cover.
ReplyDeletewe'v done a lot of fun experiment and i think if we would of done one on earthquakes then we would of had a lot of fun because earthquakes are the earths plates rumbling and it would of been a lot of fun to do, but the volcanoes and the mud slide thing was fun
ReplyDeleteMy favorite activity that we have done this year was our unit on astronomy. I love knowing what is going on in the universe and how our planet plays into things. I wish that we would have studied the sun a little bit more, but that is all.
ReplyDeleteWhen we go to study weather, I hope that we look at how tornadoes are formed and such because in the fourth grade I did a big project on tornadoes, and I would really like to learn even more about them.
I enjoyed some of the volcano activities but I didn't like the cloud activity very well.My favorite topic was earthquakes. I wish that we would have done more hands on activities and fun labs. I kind of wished we could have done more hands on experiments in the class or even outside, like maybe a scavenger hunt with rocks or each day recording data on clouds. Tornadoes were my favorite activity because they are dangerous but informational.
