Black Holes

Black holes are places where ordinary gravity has become so extreme that it overwhelms all other forces in the Universe. Once inside, nothing can escape a black hole's gravity — not even light.

Yet we know that black holes exist. We know how they are born, where they occur, and why they exist in different sizes. We even know what would happen if you fell into one. Our discoveries have revealed one of the strangest objects in the Universe, and there's still much we don't know.  Click on the link below and follow Hubble into a black hole.  Once on the website click on replay intro to listen about black holes.

  1. we know that there are black holes. black holes are gravitational pulls in the universe that suck things into them. We also know that scientists predict that Earth will never become black holes. We thought the video was very graphic.

Black holes have a immense gravitational pull and can suck up anything. Earth will never ever become a black hole.

We also think the video was very informational.

From the video, we found out that Earth will never become a black hole. The video was really epic! We learned a lot from playing the black hole game. (Question: If black holes can swallow everything, why haven't all the black holes swallowed the entire universe???)

  5. woah thats cool that black holes have lots of gravity i didn't know that

  6. black holes have enough gravity that once something is in it can never get out even light can not escape a black holes gravity.but how does its graity trap light it almost sounds imposibel.

Wow I hope that I never get sucked down into a black hole. They could destroy you. And the entire earth would be destroyed, I wonder why there aren't black holes destroying us as we know it.

Yes the video was really informative and well made. I did not know very much about black holes until we watched this video.

We too were wondering how something could pull in light, but it is a very strange thing, so I guess it could but pulled down by gravity.

  10. Black Holes are huge gravitational pulls in space that can suck up anything it encounters. I am amazed at how they can do it.-Dominic Deutsch

  11. black holes are formed when a object overcomes its gravity, and anything that go's into it will never come out not even light

we know that there are black holes. black holes are gravitational pulls that can and or will suck up anything it encounters. i wonder what all big things they can get.

  13. black holes are very powerful because of the gravatational pull. earth will never ever become one.i agree with mathew murphy bryant wnters and nate horning! black holes can suck up anything it wants to

  14. black holes are black and can suck up anything because of its gravitational pull.black holes form when an object loses its gravity

  15. i agree with anybody who said black holes can suck up anything they want too

  16. I do not agree because light does not do anything it doesn't even move Imean it is really just light

  17. Wow, they black holes seem really powerful. wonder how somthing turns into a black hole. I wonder what would happen if we found another force (maybe a pushing force?) in the universe that was stronger than a black hole's gravity. What would happen if two blck holes came in contact with eachother? Would the stronger one ove take the weaker one? I think if there was a black hole it would be impossible to see it because it sucks in the light. I wonder how far you have to be for the gravity to pull you in?

  18. I never knew anything about balck holes the most interesting thing i have have learned about black holes is that
notinig can escape a black hole not even light.
