What's really burning?

Do you like to burn candles.  I think everyone is fascinated with flame.  Listen to this article and watch the video.  When a candle burns, what really is burning?  Tell me what you learned about flames.  Why would someone study flames?  Is there heat all through the flame?  What is soot?

  1. When a candle burns the wax is burning. A person would study flames to understand how and why different things do and do not burn. Yes ther is heat through out. soot is unburned particals.

  2. When a candle burns the oil in the wax and soot or carbon molecules is actually what is burning. I learned that the fuel for the candle is cold and that the actual flame is what is just around the wick. People would use this knowledge to make a better combustion engine and to burn fuels more cleanly.

  3. I think some1 would study fire because they might think its interesting. Its actually cold inside the flame. Soot is just carbon particals.

  4. I do like burning candles because it looks cool and i like the smell. When a candle burns it is really the wax burning.i learned that there are many diffrent types and that the blue flame is the hottest.Someone would study flames to figure out a way to us3e flames a an energy source or just to learn things about them. There is not heat all throught the flame. a scoot is a common particle.

Don't forget that the soot is also burning andit is the oil from the wax that is burning.

  6. The wax is burning and its cooler in the middle of the flame because in the middle is where the oil that has not been burned yet. I find flames interesting becaus ei know flames can be different temperatures but how and how are there different flames. I wonder how we discovered the different kinds of flame and how many different kinds of flames there are?

  9. the wax is really burning when you light a candle.people would study flames to know what would burn and what wouldnt.there isnt heat through out some part of the flame is cool. soot is unburned particals

  10. The wax in the candle is actually burning and the wax starts burning when it hits oxygen.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The wax in the candle is the one burning.I learned what soot is and soot is unburned carbon particles in the candle. Someone would study flames to get a better understanding about the flames and the candle to make a new inproved candle.

  12. The soot is burning which is carbon particals that went into the gas phase and didn't have any oxygen. I learned that if the color of the flame is darker it isn't as hot. They study flames so we can learn to burn fuels more efficient and cause less pollution. No there is not in the middle is the fuel that has not burned yet. Soot is carbon particals.

  13. Its really the carbon molecules that are burning and how the middle fuel area of the flame is actually cold!

  14. I am very fascinated with flame. The wax is really burning. The blue part of fire, is the hottest. Soot is carbon particals. I would study fire because it is very amazing to watch. It is kind of like a human if you think about it because it grows and dies, and it needs to be fed or else it dies down.

  15. A candal is achely burning wax aka fuel. I never new that candals burnt wax i thoutht it just burt yhe wick.

  16. @Taylor
I like burning candles and i do like the smell but sometimes i don't like when the scent isn't very strong and you smell an ashy, smokey smell.

  17. The soot is actually gives off the flames we see.The fuel is the wax.No, at the part closer to the candle it is colder. Somebody would study flames to make them easier to see.Soot is carbon particles that went into the gas phase and didn't find any oxygen and then they form into a soild particle.

    ReplyDelete
  18. When a candle burns, the wax is burning. The wax is fed up onto the wick of the candle, and when it comes in contact with oxygen, it turns into a flame. One thing I learned was that the yellow part of the flame is the soot, not the actual flame. Soot is a cluster of carbon particles that couldn't find any oxygen, and combined together as leftovers from the burning of the candle. No, surprisingly the whole flame is not the same temperature. In the middle of the flame is the fuel that hasn't burned yet, and it is actually colder then the rest of the flame.

  19. @ Taylor Herbers "carbon particals"

  20. @ taylar i agree but i just like fire.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Someone would study flames if they wanted to know how they worked. This is because humans have been able to sort of control flames for half a million years, but we never really knew the dynamics of it.

    ReplyDelete
  22. @ Wade Stenger
I defentl think that is true why a person would study fire and/or flames

    ReplyDelete
  23. @ wade i agree i just like fire to.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Mrs Hoffman,
The soot is really what burns. It is important to study flames so we can find a safer way to burn materials. Soot is carbon particles that are looking for oxygen but they don't find any oxygen. No part of the flame is actually cold. I learned that not all the flame is hot. I also learned that the soot is what is burning.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Maddie Lindemann
The blue part near the bottom is the hottest part throughout the flame.

    ReplyDelete
  26. When a candle burns, what really burns is the wax, and the soot from the candle is really just unburned particles that came off of the candel. A person would study flames to see what kinds of things do or do not catch fire, there is heat through out something burning. I learned that flames are very complex.

    ReplyDelete
  27. When a candle burns the wax oil is whats getting burned it goes up the wick and acts as the feul. people study flames to learn what really goes on in a flame. how each type of flame works. soot is a carbon particle when in gas phase there is no oxygen witch nukleates and makes one solid particle. There is not heat through out the flame one part is actually cold.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The candle burns the was that turns into gas. i learned that the center of the flame is cooler and that there are many different kinds of flame. Studying flame would be neat because flame can provide light and i always thought that was really cool. soot is just fuel that didn't find oxygen in time.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @ Lorraine Lowery

Actually, the flame closer to the candle is colder because it's the unburned fuel.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Lorraine Lowery

There is actually a spot in the candle that does not have heat. In the middle of the flame, there is a spot that holds the un-burned fuel, and it is actually colder than the rest of the candle flame.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think that when a candle is burning that the wax is burning. A person would study this because they might want to learn why a candle burns and yes there is heat throughout the flame and soot is unburned particles.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The candle is actually burning the wax, it essentially its heated by the flame turns into a gas then burns when it comes into contact with oxygen. The yellow part is actually a soot particles. the hot soot is what actually emitting the photons. Soot is carbon particles that went into the gas phase and didn't find any oxygen and came together to form a solid particle.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Liz

I agree i dont like when it smell like that it just ruiens it.

    ~Taylar Herbers

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think someone would study flames to find out why something burns, and I learned that not all flames are the same. Soot is unburned carbon particles that are left over. I also learned that when a candle burns, it's the wax that is actually burning. I love burning candles because I like watching the flame move.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I like to burn candles because they smell good. When a candle burns it actually burns soot or carbon molecules. I learned that a flame does not have the same amount of heat throughout it. Someone might study flames because they like flames. Soot is unburned particles.

    ReplyDelete
  36. @ alex,
I agree i think it's important to study flames.

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Liz Scarloto,
I wonder how many different types of flames there arer too! I didn't know the wax was cooler in the middle of the flame since the oil hasn't been burned yet.

    ReplyDelete
  38. @ Brett Kron

That is kind of what i said.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Josh Whalen

Yeah i think it is interesting that the middle flame is cooler than the outer flame.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Jenny Keser

A candle does not have the same amount of heat throughout it around the wick it is cooler.

    ReplyDelete
  41. @ zach shmidt I AGREE!!!!! studying flame would be fun and plus who doeesnt like fire ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. @Joshua Whalen

I have a candle at home that was home-made at some old town and i am going to study and have fun with it

    ReplyDelete
  43. @ Carley Snell:

I am really fascinated with flame too. That is a very good comparision, comparing flames to humans. I never thought of looking at it like that, but now that I think about it, it makes sense!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yes/ The wax is really burning/ that the wax really/ some one would study the way the flame moves from one way to another or how it burns. ascoot is a commen partical

    ReplyDelete
  45. @Brett Kron =)
I like your idea of studying fire you have a great out look on the fire and the way they burn and produce energy

    ReplyDelete
  46. @ Nate Horning

    i totally agree!

    ReplyDelete
  47. @ zach shmidt Good idea i think i might aswell

    ReplyDelete
  48. When a candle burns it is the carbon molecules that actually is being burned. I learned that soot is carbon molecules that don't get any oxygen. You would study flames to figure out why the flames are different colors. Heat is not in the middle of the flame

    ReplyDelete
  49. @Ross Campbell

I didn't know candles used the wax as fuel either but did you learn anything else through this video. i learned that soot is actually carbon particles that went up into the gas phase and didn't find any oxygen and came together to form a solid particle.

    ReplyDelete
  50. @ nate
I agee that soot is unburned particles

    ReplyDelete
  51. Burning candels is just a thing to make light and smell.I think that what realy is the wax witch meltes down to a puddle and when i dries it turns in to a solid agian. There s not heat through out all the flames bc when u just put ur finger throught a little flame u dont feel anything at all.

    ReplyDelete
  52. i think people wold study flames to see how they worked and to learn what the maain power/fuel source is.i think it would be cool to study a flame but also kinda scary being around fire all of the time.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think that studying flames can be a dangurous job because it deals with fire. I never knew why the the candle got shorter but now I know it is the wax burning.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Wow, mapping flames looks really cool. When they are on a computer they look awesome the way they are virtualized. I really like candles a lot, but campfires are bigger and I like them better for that reason. Once I was watching a show and they said that the flame was plasma, and different colors are hotter than others.

    ReplyDelete
  55. When a candle burns it is really the wax that is burning. soot is unburned particles that are created once the wax begins to burn. I learned flame is more than just fancy heat=) I think that there is heat in flame and not just out side it. someone would study flame to see what burns and what doesn't so people can make items as flame retardant as possible.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I love burning candles, but only if they smell good. Soot is carbon particles. What color flame is the hottest? Would it be white? How dose the good smelling stuff in the candle spread in a room? How can you study flmaes? Not many people would want to do that probably, I would be one of them people that go.."what the heck is that doing(mass other things)...5 SECONDS LATER...you forget about it, and live your life. Would you wonder on? Or be like me?

    ReplyDelete
  57. i learned its really carbon molecules being burned and the candle uses wax as fuel.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I like to burn candles because the flame looks so interesting. The part of the candle that is really burning is, the wax burning. It turns into flame when it reaches oxygen. The soot is the yellow part in the flame that doesnt reach the oxygen. Soot is also unburned carbin particles. Someone would study flames becuase for one, flames are very different and fascinating. Two, so we can learn more about fire. There isn't heat all the way through the candle. The wick is actually cold. This whole process was new too me, and I thought it was very interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  59. @Bailee Conway
i agree it is the wax that is realy burning the most thats why it melts.

    ReplyDelete
  60. @ Brady
Really, you would feel nothing? Cool. Now I know what to do to make my sister flip. aagghh my hand is on fire, IT'S ON FIRE1!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. @ jordan

wow i never knew that it was carbon molculesbeing burned that is very interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  62. @ Andrea S.
I would like to have a dangerous job, because thats what makes it exciting, you dont want to go to work everyday hating your life/job becaus eyour afraid of something. I want an exciting/adventerous job so I wont get bored, and Id be doing what i enjoy.(:

    ReplyDelete
  63. When a candle is burning it is actually the wax that is burning.I think that candles are kind of cool the way they work.

    ReplyDelete
  64. @ Snell(;

I really like the comparison you made between the flame and a human. That is really creative(: do you think that you would ever want to study flames for a profession ?

    ReplyDelete
  65. @ andrea schwab
i agree i think it would be alittle bit dangerous to work with real flames

    ReplyDelete
  66. @ Carley Snell
I agree that the wax is burning too, but I think that the wick is burning as well. That is interesting to think of a flame like person, and I agree there are many similarities between people and flames.

    ReplyDelete
  67. When a candle burns it burns wax. I learned from this that it is actually colder on the inside of the flame and that people want to study this because we have never really studied flames. Soot is unbured fuel particles that can't find oxogyn so when they try to burn they clump up into little black dots.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I thought it was cool how you could see the wax going up the candle and that soot is the stuff that was going to burn then didn't, but then did to make a yellow flame.

    ReplyDelete
  69. @ kat slattery

I agree bigger flames are cooler and more fun

    ReplyDelete
  70. When a candle burns the wax of the candle is what burns. I learned that the fuel is cool. People study flames because they want to learn how to burn fuels smarter. No there is not heat all through the flames the fuel is cool. soot is the substance left after a flame or fire.

    ReplyDelete
  71. That is so cool that inside of the flame is cold. I never knew that the wax was what burns I thought it was the wick that burned.I always thought that soot was just black ,but it turns out it is what causes flame to have color.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Yes I like to burn candles because of the smell. When a candle is burning the carbon molecules are burning. While watching this video I learned there are different types of flames. The blue flame is the hottest one. I think someone would study about flames because they would want to know how things burn. Yes there is heat through all flames. Soot is carbon particles.

    ReplyDelete
  73. What is really burning in a candle is the soot and wax. The middle of the flame isn't where the heat comes from. People would probably want to study flames because they interest them.

    ReplyDelete
  74. @ALex Anderson
I know write? seeing that stuff go up the candle.

    ReplyDelete
  75. @ maggie Hoover

I agree that flames are intresting.also someone who studies flames would have a prety cool job.

    ReplyDelete
  76. When a candle burns its the wax that's actually burning, the wax is the flue for the flame. Someone may want to study a flame because they want to learn ways to burn cleaner flue of ways to better harness its energy. Soot is carbon particles that went into the gas phase but couldn't find any oxygen so they combine together and nucleate into a solid particle to form the leftovers of the flame. The hot part of the candle is the soot and the envelope of flame around the middle near the wick. I've learned a lot from the video, in fact everything in this video is new to me, how the soot is made, what part of the flame is hot, what's burning, everything! I think flames would be really fun to study in science!

    ReplyDelete
  77. @ Sara
I would wonder on because when I don't get answers I ask more questions. For example what is that little thing that you set on fire in the wax? Is it just string or is it some specially formulated "fire holder"? If the wax is what burns then why is the "string" even there? ext.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I think that when a flame burns a heat source has to start it like a match, wich starts from friction. Once the flame starts it will continue to combust as long as it has oxygen and fuel.

    ReplyDelete
  79. @ Will Smith
I thought that was cool to but I don't understand how it goes up the candle so slowly it's really wierd.

    ReplyDelete
  80. The thing that is acually burning is called soot. The soot is surrounded by the flame and in the middle is the fuel that has not been burned yet and the fuel that has not been burned yet is colder than the flame.

    ReplyDelete
  81. @ Baileee
I have grabbed the wick of a candle while it was on fire once, to put out the candle. I didnt get burned tho. So you wouldnt catch on fire. I caught my kitchen one fire once...or twice..it started in my microwave but smoked more than burned but the flames were blue, and the smoke didnt smell like regular smoke.

    ReplyDelete
  82. @ nate
I never that soot is unburned particles.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I learned alot in this artical. I learned that soot is carbon particals and that there is no heat in the middle of a flame. I think it is important to study flames to learn to control them.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I agree, everyone is fascinated with flame. Though it gets pretty boring after a while. I think people study flames so they can learn to control them. I learned that soot is carbon particles. The wax isn't really burning.

    ReplyDelete
  85. i think it is cool how there is so many colors of flames.

    ReplyDelete
  86. @ Will Smith
Yeah I agree that was cool I was surpraised that it was the wax that was actually burning.

    ReplyDelete
  87. @Sarah Colwell: I like candles that smell too, I love when the smell actually goes around the room and you can smell it after you put out the flame. I think candles and how they burn are amazing, as well as anything else that burns.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Soot is carbon particles. The hot soot is what burns in the candles. Not all of the flames are the same like gas stoves's flames are different than candle flames. Yes i love to burn candles and catch things on fire. I learned that flames are dangerous and You shouldn't play with fire. People would study flames because they are interesting. There isn't heat all through the soot.

    ReplyDelete
  89. @ Zach Schmidt & Josh Whalen That so cool that it's cooler near the wick. I guess It's like the eye of the tornado being calmer.

    ReplyDelete
  90. @Matthew Budde
Fuel is pretty cool.... that rhymes ('_')

    ReplyDelete
  91. Soot is carbon particles. Soot and the oil in the wax are is actually the part that's burning.I learned that not all flames are the same. For example gas stoves' flames are different than candles flames. People need to know how dangerous flames really are is why people study flames. Yes there is heat all throughout the soot.

    ReplyDelete
  92. When a candle burns the oil in the wax and soot or carbon molecules is actually what is burning.i learned that the flame sucks up the wax of the candel.some one would study flames to understand it beter.yes.soot is the unburned particals

    ReplyDelete
  93. @Cara Roche
That's a cool idea, the tornado thing

    ReplyDelete
  94. I think it would be cool to study fire cuz it just fasinates me because i love fire so much i just wanna know how you can get it to do different things. If its the type of wax or oil or gas to get it to do different stuff then i could get my dad to help me figure out how to do these things with it.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I like to burn candles because they smell good. i wonder how they make it smell good. Someone may want to study a flame because they want to learn ways to burn cleaner flue of ways to better harness its energy.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I like it when a candle burns because you the flam move around in differnt directions. When a candale burns froim when the candale wick gets on fire from a soot particles and oil. I learned that candles have a cool flame and are interesting to see while on fire.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I like to burn candles because of the sent of the candles. I would not touch the fire because you will bern your self.

    ReplyDelete
  98. What i learned about flames are that the middle of the flame is actually colder and also the middle is fuel that hasn't burned yet.and the soot is actually carbon particles. this very interesting. and the yellow part of the flame is the SOOT part of the flame too. i really never knew flames/fire could be so interesting and cool.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Mrs.Hoffman
I never thought of what a flame actaully is and I never new that the wax turned into gas when it melts. How would it make it safe if we figure out how a flame works. How do recreate how a flame looks like in digtal form? Why does the flame only burn in oxgen?I didn't know soot was the yellow part of the flame. If you learn more about flames you can try to to out the polutates from the flame.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Humans are thought to have mastered controlled fire in the middle of the Paleolithic era. Half a million years later, engineers Tadd Truscott and Dale Tree, of Brigham Young University, are trying to quantify it. Using high speed cameras and computer algorithms, they are reconstructing fire, digitally. Understanding flames better can help us use fire better, they say. (Credits: flame footage: Dale R. i think people study flames because they want to know what really is burning the candle.

  101. I dont like to burn candels, when a candle burns its really wax thats burning, soot is the unburn particals of a candel

    ReplyDelete

I think that studying fire would be cool also.

    ReplyDelete
  103. @ erin pegg

i would do the same thing because i was a fire bug when i was like five or six because i liked fire now im terrified of fire and it would be bad tto touch fire causwe it would hurt really bad

I never tried moving the flame while it was lite does it look cool.

    ReplyDelete
  107. what really burns is gas particals that could not find oxigan so they came together to form a flame. I learned that flames form from lack of oxigan but when the flames made it needs oxigan to keep going/cotinuing . because we don't know that much about flames and now would be a good time to start experentining. yes but the base of the flame is hotter than the outer part of the flame. a better use of fire.

    ReplyDelete
  108. i like your post beacuse you said I think it would be cool to study fire cuz it just fasinates me because i love fire so much i just wanna know how you can get it to do different things. i think you did a good post

    ReplyDelete
  110. When a candle burns the wax is burning. A person would study flames to understand how and why different things do and do not burn. Yes ther is heat through out. soot is unburned particals.

    ReplyDelete
  111. i like lighting candles i like to see the wax run down the side an the smell of some candles. It's the wax that's burning not the little stick thing inside it.i learned that the blue flame is the hottest.i never knew the wax turns into gas and i didnt know that the middle would be colder than the out side

    ReplyDelete
  112. I think someone would study fire because they might think its interesting. Its actually cold inside the flame. Soot is just carbon particals.

    ReplyDelete
  113. The oxogen and the candles wick.

  117. I like to watch candles because I like to watch the flames change color. When we are at my dads we have a lot of fires and sometimes the flames turn blue, green, red and orange. The soot is carbon particles. The part that burns is soot and the reason that the color is the color that it is because the soot makes it yellow and that's why a stove burner is blue, there is no soot in it.

    ReplyDelete
  118. @kyle bearse
i like your post beacuse you said I think it would be cool to study fire cuz i like fire.

    ReplyDelete
  119. When the candle burns its the wax that is around the wick then then the wick burns and turns to soot.

    ReplyDelete
  120. no you do not burn candles you burn the wax of the candles. Then the wick terns into soot.

    ReplyDelete
  121. the 3d fire looked weird i think that it would be good to study fire bucause it could help globelwarmin and help the econemy

    ReplyDelete
  122. When a candle is really burning it is the wax that is burning. I learned about flames is that flames arent hot through out the whole thing in the center of it it is cooland not hot. Someone wpuld study flames because it is fascinating how they work and what you see and how some are different colors. No there is not heat thruogh out the whole flame it is cool in the center. Soot is when carbon partcles cant find oxygen and they combine into one solid.

    ReplyDelete
  123. When you light a candle the wax starts to mealts. I think that it would be cooler in side of the flame.

    ReplyDelete
  124. @ Bryint Winters

Is there realy oil in side of the wax.

    ReplyDelete
  125. thats right brian the soot is burning

    ReplyDelete
  126. i love to burn candles.me to.the string and the wax.i learned what a soot was i didnt even ever heard of ita carbon particle that that turns into gas.

    ReplyDelete
  127. yes i burn candles.when a candle burns its actully burning the wax which is actuly making thev flame. i learnt that not all of the flame is hot some of it is cold which i thought was cool. soot is unburned particals.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I think that someone would study the flame because they might want to know what happens when you burn a candle or what kind of flames there are. when a candle burns the wax goes up through the wick. I learned that the wax goes up inside the wax and that there are different kinds of flames.Soot is unburned carbon particles that are left over.

  133. When a candle burns its actually oil in the wax that burns and soot and carbon molecules are burning too. I learned the fuel is cool and what soot is and soot is carbon particle that went into a gas phase, and if it has no oxygen it will turn into a solid particle. Also there is heat through out the whole flame.

  135. The wax is burning...when the candle is burning. I love to burn candles!!!(: I sorta think of it as me getting my anger out at some people at school...(some cheerleaders maybe idk)(:!!! Soot is a bunch of carbon particles that couldn't find any oxygen, and they are formed together as leftovers from the burning of the candle. Actually all of the flame is not the
same temperature. The middle is the coldest

  136. When a candle is lit the wax is really burning. Soot is carbon particles that went to the gas phase and they didnt find any oxygen so they combined together in to 1 solid. There is not heat althrough the flame it is actually cold sometimes. I learned that the middle of the flame is cold!

I agree with you Derek, I think people study fire because it interests them. I also think they study it to prvent injuries.

I also learned that the part that has not burned is colder than the flame. I found that very interesting. I would think that the heat from the fllame would heat it up.

I agree with you about the part about burning candles because they smell good. I found that fact about a flame temperature not being the same throughout it very interesting.

  141. When it comes to candles I mostly just like the smell. What I found interesting was that there are different types of flames and that the middle of the flame is cooler on the outside than the inside. When a flame is burning it's just the wax that is burning and the middle is what hasn't burned yet.I think that a person would want to study a flame is because they might want to know what it is made of or what creates it.

I agree that they would study flames to make them into a energy source, but they would alsolike to study it to find a ay to make it cleaner.

  144. I actually do like to burn candles. The flame is very interesting. When a candle burns, what actually is burning is the wax. People study flames so that we can gain information on fire and why certain things burn faster or slower, or just don't burn in general. Yes, There is heat throughout and a scoot is like unburned particals.

  145. The wax and soot are burning as I learned that a million years from now, the first ever human made flame will ignite. I think that someone would want to study flames to learn about how fire was formed millions of years ago.-Dominic Deutsch

  146. I do like burning candles because it looks cool. The wax is really burning. soot is a common particle.

  147. No I have never thought to burn a candle. Soot is carbon particles that went to the gas fase and didnt find any oxgen so they combind together to make a solid particle. I learned that million years ago first men made fire. I think someone would want to study flames to help us burn fuels more effentce

  148. i don't like burning candles fire is cool but candles not.whats really burning is wax comon particle just like Kegan gulley said.

  149. I don't like burning candles or anything that goes with fire. The thing that is really burning is the gas.I learned that the wax is fuel, someone would study flames because flames tell you about life because you can't find out about somebody unless you say hi and ask them questions. If they are at your church say hi do you like it here or if your at a bible study at your school and somebody that has never came went there you would or should say hi, like I should not judge people by the way they look or act like I do because God still loves them just the way they are just like he loves me and you, also I do have a bible study here every thursday you are welcomed to come.No there is not heat all through the candle because the flame is just like a envolope that covers the candles stick,Soot is carbon particles.

  150. I agree matt I don't like burning candles either.

I like to burn candles too... i ithink they are fastinating too beacuse they soarta mystify you. I agree that the wax is really burning, and i also agee that scientists study flame to gain more info about fire and see why something would be burning faster or slower. And I agree that there is heat through-out, and that sot is unburned particlies.
