It's hard to believe we have already completed the first quarter!
What has been your favorite part of your science class this year? What was your favorite activity we have done? What is something you wish we could have done in our space unit that we did not? Is there anything you would have changed or done differently? Leave your thoughts.
Thanks for your input!
Our favorite part of science we agree was blogging and doing labs. We learned a lot from doing so. Our favorite was when we did our space unit and we turned the lights off and learned the phases of the moon. Another thing we liked was when we did the planet surface mystery box. We wish we would have learned more about the other planets and stars. The three of us agree that we should have had open discussions more often.
ReplyDeleteWe think that the blogging, but we liked the parts that had to do with arts and crafts the best, so we probably would have added more.
ReplyDelete@Brynn and Julia
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by arts and crafts ?
Are favorite part was blogging. Are favorite activity was making a elevation graph. We wish we could have done more experiments. We should have done less reading and do more activities.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing we did this year was galaxies and blogging because galaxies was interesting and blogging was fun and easy. I don't really have a favorite activity because all of them were alright. I wish we did something with the planets because we didn't do much of that. I think the only thing I would change is that we would do more activity's.
ReplyDeleteWade and me both really liked blogging this year. Are favorite activity was blogging also. In our space unit we would have really liked to create a solar system. We would not change anything about the first quarter.
ReplyDeleteNate and Wade
@Bryant Winters and Matthew Murphy I also think we should have done more activity's and less reading because then it would be more fun.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of science so far this year was watching the video about all of the moons in our solar system. I think that it is really cool that there are so many moons in the universe and that we could do so many things that we can't do here, on those distant places.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite activity was the "Planet Surface mystery" activity. I though that it was a lot if fun because we had to guess what the surface looked like without actually seeing it, and we were able to make a colored map of its surface.
One thing that I wish we could have done was making a moon video. We could have used a regular camera to take pictures of the moon each night, and then we could have "flipped" through the pictures to make it seem like the moon was going through all of its phases really fast.
One thing that I would have done differently is I would have taken notes more often. Every once in a while we looked at a power-point and wrote down definitions and facts. I would have done that more often, so we would know the definitions a little better.
@Nate and Wade
ReplyDeleteDid you two like anything other than blogging? Both me and Bryant agree we should have made a solar system.
We liked learning about galaxies the most. We both liked the Planet Surface Mystery Box and coloring in the data to make a map. We think it would have been fun if we had gone to a science center during the space unit. We liked the unit and wouldn't change anything except maybe a trip to a science center.
ReplyDelete@Brian
ReplyDeleteMe ad Wade also really liked blogging this year!
My favorite thing that we did this year was the bloging. My favorite activity we did was holding the styrafoam moon on a pencil. I wish we could have made a rocket and launched it off.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite activity we did last quarter was the phases of the moon activity. It was the one with the light in the center of the table and it was dark and we had the little moons on sticks. That was my favorite part of science class as well. I would not have the stop, think, anwers cause I think they are boring. There is nothing i wish we could do that we haven't done.
ReplyDeleteBlogs/Blog/Talk about aliens/i would not change anything
ReplyDeleteBy Dallas Blasek, Ross Campbell
@ Maddie Lindemann, Jalynn Johnson, and Rheanna Barry
ReplyDeleteWe mean like drawing and coloring.
@Bryant winters & matt murphey
ReplyDeleteWe agree more activities would have been nice.
Our favorite thing to do in science was blogging. our favorite activity was the styrofoam moon experiment.I wish we were able to build a space ship and fly to Mars, or just do more experiments. If we could change anything we would do less reading and more experiments.
ReplyDeleteoops. Sorry. I spelled Jenny's name wrong. It's Jennifer Lydia Keyser
ReplyDelete@ Nate Horning I love bloging to its the funnest thing weave done so far to bad its only on Mondays.
ReplyDeleteRoss Campbell Dallas Blasek
My favorite activity was the Phases of the Moon. My favorite part of science class was definatly not the stop, think, answer. I don't really know if I have a favorite part of class. I would not have the stop, think, answer if I could change class. I wish we could have learned about another galaxy. I've always wanted to know about a whole nother galaxy. If there's billions of galaxies, There could be a whole nother planet with human kind.
ReplyDelete@ Murphy and Bryant
ReplyDeleteYou're so right. It would be so fun to make a model solar system.
My favorite part of science was the hands on activities. My favorite activity was when we had the giant glowing sun in our class room and we could see the phases of the moon. We should have had a giant camp out on a clear night and observe the star threw a telescope. There is nothing i would have changed. It was a lot of fun.
ReplyDelete@ Rheanna Barry, Jalynn Johnson, and Maddie Lindemann
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you said.
@ Matt and Bryant
ReplyDeleteWe also think there should be less readings.
@ Maddie, Rheanna, Jalynn
ReplyDeleteI liked the moon phases as well. I didn't even think of the blogging when I was picking my favorite. The moon phases was cool because it wasn't anything like what we do in any other class. It was different.
@ Liz Scarlato
ReplyDeleteI think that the phases of the moon activity was a lot of fun as well. I enjoyed seeing exactly what causes the phases of the moon. It is better to actually see how something works then to just here about it.
@ Alex
ReplyDeleteWe loved the video about the moons too!!
zach schmidt and joshua whalen
ReplyDeleteWe liked measuring the planet in the box. We would've liked to finish the 95 Worlds movie about the moons. We would've also liked to have more open class discussion and a lot more activites(about space).
@ Bryant Winters and Matthew Murphy
ReplyDeleteBlogging was fun this for me too. I think you guys are right that we should done more activities. they were very fun
@ Alex Stevens
ReplyDeleteI liked watching the videos as well but I thought they went to fast for taking notes.I wish she would have took a break in them every once in a while caus e my face was at my paper the whole time and every time I looked up I would have to put my head in the paper again it got annoying after a while.
It is really hard to belive that the end of the quarter is already here! Our favorite part of the quarter was when we watched the movie about the planets and their moons. Our favorite activity was when we acted out the moon phases and we acted like we were Earth and the light bulb was the sun. We think that it would have been really cool if we could have done a project and create the solar system. We would have changed the way we did the worksheet on the moon phases and we had to write down what the moon phases looked like. The best part is the bloging because we think that it was a great way to start of the week.
ReplyDelete~Taylar H. and Brooke C. :)
Me and Sarah agreed that blogging was our favorite thing. Yes the first quarter has gone by really fast. Our favorite activity was the stick that you had to put into the box and measure how far it went down. Something that we wished we could have done in our space activity is a solar system project. We could change the stop and think answers also how long they take.
ReplyDeletemy favorit part of scienc so far is the labs and bloging. my favorit activity was when we did the moon phases with the foam speres on a pencil. there was nothing in the space unit that i wanted to do or change.
ReplyDeleteI liked blogging with partners and doing the hands on activities. We also liked watching videos because they help us understand the material better.I did not like how we spent so much time on one subject.
ReplyDeleteOur favorite part of the year was when we watched the movie about moons. Our favorite activity was activity 93. We wanted to learn more about the planets in our solar system. We wanted to work with groups or partners more often.
ReplyDeleteKatherine: I really liked the blogging it gives everyone a chance to share thoughts and tell what they think. I like the way Mrs. Hoffman teaches very well, she sticks to the program and does a good job with ideas and methods for teaching.
ReplyDeleteBailee: I really LOVE blogging and wish we could do it every day. I agree with Kat about Mrs. Hoffman and her teaching. I do wish we could have done a big project with a partner or individually. But in class, the send home science projects aren't as fun and harder since there is no one around to ask.(mom and dad won't know. They studied this stuff ages ago.)The projects that are big and colorful that you need creativity and imagination. FUN!
@ Dylan Noble
ReplyDeleteWe wanted to launch a rocket too.
Our favorite part of science this year we agree is the experiments/labs and blogging. Our favorite experiment was the moon phases experiment where we acted out the moon phases. It would have been bettwr if we acted out the life cycle of stars. We would have liked it better if we did more experiments and less worksheets.
ReplyDeleteMeara's favorite part was blogging. Maggie's favorite part was also blogging because it is a good way for everyone to communicate. I Meara, think that we should of done more activities to help us learn. I agree with Meara, more activities would have been a fun way to learn.
ReplyDelete@ Nate and Wade
ReplyDeleteWe really would have enjoyed creating a solar system too. I think it would really help us understand the position of the plants and more about the space unit.
We do find it hard to believe that first quarter, but we can't wait for the next 3 to be over, too! Sydney's favorite part of Science so far was learning about the moon phases (again:)). Lexi's favorite part of Science so far was learning about the planets and their moons. She liked learning about their terrain and such. Our favorite activity so far has been suface thing with the popsicle stickand the coloring. We wish that we could've had more indegth learning of the galaxies around ours, and not just the different types of galaxies. We would have changed the temputure in the room. WE'RE FREEZING! That's all.
ReplyDelete@ Rachel and Andrea
ReplyDeleteMeara and I agree with you. The partner blogging and hands-on activities were really fun.
I like learning about the phases of the moon.I like when we did the activity with the like bulb being the sun and the ball being the moon and we spun around.I also like learning about the dark matter and how it holds every thing together. The thing that we wanted to do was to build a model rockets. No, there was nothing that I would not want to change.
ReplyDelete@ Sydney and Lexi
ReplyDeleteWe agree that the room is freezing(; also that it would been fun to learn about more than just our galaxy.
Our favorite part of science class this year was the "7 Deadliest Seas" video where we went back in time and looked at all the creatures that used to lurk in the sea, I would have loves to see the rest but we only finished the 6th one. Our favorite activities were the moon phases activity where we had our own moon and we "revolved" around earth causing our phases, our next favorite activity was the topographical map, we like the coloring part most. We wished we could have done more labs that involved more chemicals or hands on things like, we could have done a lab on how the moon was made or something. We would have changed science so we had a few more fun activities like hands on stuff.
ReplyDelete@ Andrea and Rachel
ReplyDeleteBailee: I also loved the movies and hands on activities. I believe every ones favorite thing was blogging. It is so much fun. Are we going to finish that sea creatures video.
Kat: I really liked hands on activities too. I especially loved the activity with the moon was we rotating around the sun (a light in the middle of the class room.)
@ Katherine
ReplyDeleteWe also agree blogging was fun and aloud people to share their thoughts and ideas.
Our favorite part of science was blogging and fill in the blank work sheets. Our favorite activity was the remote sensing activity. We wish that was more hands on activities. We wouldn't have changed anything.
ReplyDelete@ Syd and Lex
ReplyDeleteBailee: I liked that terrain movie too. It was very cool and informal. I never knew so many moon existed in our solar system. I bet the temperature is to give us a feeling that we are in space. =p
Kat:I liked the movie too. Especially Io. It's the only one I can remember.
Kamal Williams,Alex Anderson,Brady Doyle@ We liked the phases of the moon too, especially the activity we did with it. I would have been really cool to build a model rocket! One that really flies! We think science is really cool but we wish we could have done some more fun activities.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite thing in science that we learned in the first quarter this year, thanks.-Dominic Deutsch
ReplyDeleteMrs.Hoffman
ReplyDeleteOne project Mya and I wish we could have done is making the moon phrases out of foam balls. Our favorite activity of the quarter was learning about the galaxies. We would change the unit by more moon games that are fun.
The activities in class. The activity when there was a big light ball in the center of the room and we all had a white ball on a pencil and we turn around in a circle to see the phrases of the moon. Looked at other planets in diffrent galaxies. Nope.

ReplyDeleteAre favorte thing about science is the sun we enjoy the sun cause it has mass of heat and gravity .
2. our favorte assmient that we have done this year is the sun and penical on stick and hold it in front of light and stud around the room and a shadow that was shying on the ball.

The first quarter felt like it went by fast like only 2 weeks.I liked the part when we got to learn about the moon phases and wrote them down. What i liked about science class is when we did the moon phases with a lamp, pencil, and a styrofoam ball. and we rotated into different phases of the moon.I wish we could have went to the space muesum in florida in our unit on space. There could of been less socializing and distractions in class and we would of been more focused on our work.
ReplyDeleteThe first quarter was fun but some things werent all that fun and some things were but it was a really funny and fun quarter
ReplyDeletebrad & cameron

@Cierra.Henke & Brandin.Luers you guys made some grammer mistakes hard to understand.to us you guy's made no sense you didn't really answer the question to where we can't understand it.
ReplyDeleteLike the Earth and space part of the quarter was fun but when we were learning about the moon that wasnt so much fun
ReplyDeleteour fav part was the viedos and bloging one of the activitys where the space one that was super fun wish we could have disect something that would of been super fun if we got to do that...
ReplyDeleteBailee
ReplyDeleteWe also thought the sea creature video was cool the creatures were amazing its hard to believe that these creatures actally lived on earth
what i learned in science class is all the phases of the moon and all the things that earth does and will do we liked the the moon phases thing with the lamp pencil and ball what we wanted to do is go to a space station and learn a lot and look through a telescope and observe the moon and the stars as an asingment. we would have made way less talk so one it wouldn't be loud and we could get work done.
ReplyDeletei didnt like the moon stuff but i liked everything else because it was cool
ReplyDeleteBecause of that, there was nothing that caught my attention.-Dominic Deutsch
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite thing we learned in science in the first quarter because there was nothing that caught my attention.-Dominic Deutsch
ReplyDelete@Cierra.Henke & Brandin.Luers you guys made some grammer mistakes hard to understand.to us you guy's made no sense you didn't really answer the question to where we can't understand it.
ReplyDeleteOur favorite part of science we agree was blogging and the moon activity. I would not have the stop, think, answers because I don't think we learn anything.
ReplyDeleteGetting to blog with our partners. The box with the thing inside it. Go to the moon and be the youngest people to walk on the moon. Yes i would change filling in the words of the paper of the book.
ReplyDeleteOur favorite activity in science was when we took the styra foam balls and put them on the pencil and created the moon phases. Also, We all like blogging. We think it would be really cool if we created a project of all the moon phases. If we could do anything different we would do less analysis questions but, overall science has been fun!
ReplyDeleteCory Alien is a wimpy girl. Also I'm Brandi luers.
ReplyDeleteWe have liked to do blogging, the Styrofoam ball experiment thing, and a bunch of other things that we can not name!! We think that to make science better that quarter was we could have talked about our labs after we were done...as a class. We could do more group activities to.
ReplyDelete@ Kylie Lonneman & Mya Hill
ReplyDeletewe also thougt the sea creache vido was cool.
our part was the movies. i wish we could of watched more of them. our favrit activity was moon phases. No we thik every thing went great this quarter.
ReplyDeleteI like the fascinating telescope.the Class data for the planets surface.Made a craft. No
ReplyDeleteThe science class is the best science class ever
ReplyDeleteand the best two science teacher Mrs.lawson Mrs.Hoffmann.
I hope we learn more.....
olivia we agree with you on blogging
ReplyDelete@Meara Huheey and Maggie Hoover
ReplyDeleteWe all agree that we should have studied that material more. It would have been better if we had studied it more.
@Rachel Kuebel, rachel shiller, hannah basil
ReplyDeletewe agree that there should be so much analysis questions. plus we liked that activity too.
