Constellations

Check  out the following link.  It provides an alphabetical list of the many constellations we will find in the night sky.  Pick a constellation and give me some information about it.  Tell me it's abbreviation, it's translation, it's position in the night sky, and provide some history about the constellation for me by reading the paragraph at the bottom of the page.

We chose the constellation cancer, its translation is the crab. Its abbreviation is Cnc and its position in the night sky is right ascension: 9 hours and declination 20 degrees. Cancer is from Greek origins and supposedly grabbed onto Hercules's toe while Hercules was fighting the Hydra. Hercules stepped on the crab and killed him, feeling sorry for the crab the goddess Hera gave him a place in the stars.

  3. I picked Phoenix. It's abbreviation is Phe, it's translation is The Phoenix,it's position in the night sky is Visible between latitudes 30 and -90 degrees and is best seen in November around 9:00 PM. According to Mythology it was a bird of incredible beauty that lived around 500 years. It would build a nest of twigs and leaves and be lit by the noon sun then would be consumed by fire, but a small worm would emerge from another fire and grow into another Phoenix.
