  1. The Ohio State University's researchers found a new way to measure the distance that magma is to the surface of the earth. They applied this to the Hawaiian volcanoes, and discovered that the magma is a lot closer to the surface than originally thought. It is only 3 to 4 kilometers from the surface.

  2. A undergraduet found a new way to gauge how deep the magma is away from the surface underneath the Earth's crust. With this they learned that the magma is 3 to 4 kilometers deep.

The researchers at Ohio State University have found a way to measure the distance from the magma to the surface of the Earth. Now they have learned that the magma is 3 to 4 kilometers deep.

The O.S.U. researchers found a new way to find the distance that magma is from the surface. They have used this in Hawaii to find out how deep the magma actually was, it was 3 to 4 kilometers from the surface. (much shallower than they thought)

  5. One of the researchers at Ohio university found a different way to measure how far the magma is away from the surface of earth, they used this on a couple of volcanoes and the discovered that the magma is only 3-4 kilometers deep.

  7. They found out that the Hawaii crust is a lot thicker than they thought and that there is magma under the surface contributing to the growing of the crust.

  8. Reseachers at Ohio state university discovered a new way to measure how far away the magma is from the surface of the earths crust. They managed to use this technique on a few different volcanos. The magma is closer than many expected it is only 3-4 kilometers deep!

  10. Turns out there is magma under the crust that that is making the crust grow a lot bigger than they thought.

    1. it seems like Hawaii is the most place with lava in it(((:

  18. Mrs.Hoffman,
They are volcanoes that are going to erupt and they show University researchers have found a new way to gauge the depth of the magma chamber that forms the Hawaiian Island volcanic chain, and determined that the magma lies much closer to the surface.

  19. The researchers found out how to measure how to measure how deep the magma is. This can help them predict when the volcano will erupt. They found that the magma is closer to the surface then they thought.

  31. Some of the things the Ohio State University researchers found was to measure how deep the magma is. They also found the distance that the Magma is from the earth's surface.

I agree, Would you ever be a scientist? I bet they make a lot of money too. I think it would be a cool job to get to learn about Valcanoes, and other disasters, and too find ways to be able to predict when one will occur.
