How cool is this? A strong solar flare was erupted from the sun on Friday, January 27. This was the strongest of week long eruptions. What are solar flares? Where on the sun do they originate? What kind of things do solar flares effect on Earth? Do these things occur in a cycle? How long is the cycle? What do you think about all of this?
click on the link below, read the article and watch the short video.
Sun Unleashes Solar Flares
Solar flares short, but powerful eruptions of particles and electromagnetic radiation from the sun's surface. We think that solar flares originate from sunspots. Solar flares affect the radio waves on earth. They can disrupt the communication between radios. The sun's activity changes and repeats in about an eleven-year cycle. We believe that it is interesting to see how the sun moves and changes and how it can be similar or very different to earth. We are also interested in how the sun's activity affects the earth.
ReplyDeleteWe think that your idea is great, and we agree about what you put
DeleteWe were interested in the same thing. We want to know too.
DeleteI agree that the cycle is 11 years. Also that they can affect radio waves

Deleteits is awesome. solar flares are like explosions on the sun that rapidly increase in light and temperature. The electromagnetic spectrum. yes. they are very cool.
ReplyDeleteIts very cool.solar flares are powerful eruptions on the sun.The sun originate from sunspots. They can interfere with the radios.the suns activity changes and repeat for a 11 years.its very cool and interesting.
ReplyDeleteSolar flares are pretty cool because of the video that we watched. Solar flares are powerful short eruptions of particles and electromagnetic radiation from the sun. The solar flares come from sunspots. They affect the radio waves and the auroras. The solar flare repeats in an eleven year cycle. The solar flare cycle is 11 years long. We think it is interesting to learn about the solar flares because we didn't know anything about the solar flares until we read this article and we didn't know what they looked like.
ReplyDeleteI had heard of solar flares before now, but I did not really know what they were either. Now I know that they are very powerful bursts of energy in the form of heat and light.
DeleteThey are powerful eruptions that happen on the sun's surface. They originate from sun spots. The electromagnetic radiation affect the radio communications. Yes they occur in a cycle, these cycles last up to 11 years. We think that that solar flares are pretty cool, they are very interesting and we think it would be fun to learn a bit about them. Plus, they look really neat when they go off.
ReplyDeleteI agree, they do look really cool when they go off.

I also would like to know how an explosion on the sun affects radio waves here.
ReplyDelete@Abby
DeleteYeah, I think that the happen just on the sun because the flares come from sun spots. But the flares probaly get in the way of the satillites trying to connect down on earth.

DeleteWe put that too and we agree
1 a solar flare is when a eruption happens on the sun. 2 any were on the moon. 3 if it is aimed at earth that could be bad. 4 no thay dont from what i read. 5 i thik it is cool but bad
