Satellite crashes to Earth
When did this satellite fall back onto Earth? Where did it hit? What else did you learn about this satellite when reading this article? Would you have been afraid it might hit you or your house had you known it was falling?
Leave your thoughts.
Scientists think the satellite fell into the Pacific Ocean, sometime between late Friday night and early Saturday morning. I learned that the biggest piece of the satellite that survived weighed about 300 pounds.
ReplyDeleteIf I knew the satellite was coming at me, or my house, I would be very afraid. I would because I would hear a lot about the satellite and how big it was, and that the location where it was supposed to end up was unknown.
It hit between Friday and Saturday, and landed in the Pacific Ocean. Its as big as a bus and weighs 6 tons. Yes because they said some of the pieces that had fallen off are really sharp and on fire.
ReplyDeleteThis satlite came back to earth on friday/saturday. it hit the pacific ocean and north america. No one knows for shore
ReplyDeleteI would be scared if a flying on fire object was coming toward me i would know what to do i i think it would be funny
That is cool how a satellite fell to earth. It fell sometime between Friday and Saturday somewhere either in the Pacific or Alberta, Canada. I learned that it died awhile ago and weighed a substantial amount. Although I would not be nervous because it wouldn't be to heavy but it would be cool to have a satellite in my backyard.
ReplyDeleteIt crashed between Friday night and Saturday morning. It was as big as a bus and weighs about 6 tons. It landed in the Pacific Ocean. Yes because they would be heavy and sharp.
ReplyDeleteI think it's weird how a satelite just suddenly falls out of the sky after 20 years of being up there, I also think it's really goods how the satellite isin't going to crash into any land, but I hope none is going baoting around there otherwise they're probably going to get smooshed.
ReplyDelete@Matthew Murphy and Bryant Winters
ReplyDeleteI that is pretty scary
The satellite feel to earth sometime between very late Friday night and very early Saturday morning. The satellite hit Earth in the Pacific Ocean, But if it had been 5 minutes off it would have hit the U.S.A. I also learned that the largest surviving chunk should be no bigger than 300 pounds and that the satellite ran out of fuel and died in 2005. If I lived on the western coast of the U.S.A. I would have been very scared that the satellite would have hit me or my house, I mean, who wouldn't. But I don't live on the western coast, so I wouldn't have been scared.
ReplyDeleteIt landed in the Pacific Ocean they think. They hope it didn't hit land and there have been no reports that anyone has been injured from the fall. They think around Friday evening or Saturday morning.
ReplyDelete@ Jalynn
ReplyDeleteI don't think that you would know where the shrapnel would land and if you did you would probably make it out in time instead of getting roasted or impaled.
Mrs Hoffman,
ReplyDeleteIt fell around 11:50 p.m. and 1:09 a.m. NASA thinks that it fell in the Pacific ocean along the west coast of the U.S. That if the satellite would have fallen 5 minutes later that it could have landed inland along the west coast. Well if it had a chance of landing around where I live I would be terrified. But since it landed on the west coast I wouldn't freak out.
The satellite fell between 11:23 PM Friday and 1:09 AM Saturday. They predict it likely hit in the ocean but they are not sure if it fell even five minutes later than the estimated time it could have hit the U.S. I learned that it was 32 feet long and weighs and all 26 pieces weighed 1200 pounds all together. I wouldn't be afraid because there is a 1 in 22 trillion chance it would hit you and their are only 7 billion people in the world.
ReplyDelete@ Jalynn Johnson
ReplyDeleteI would also be afraid because what if it landed on my house and smooshed it.

ReplyDeleteIt fell into the pacific ocean. Its 20 years old. No because its highly unlikely
ReplyDeleteRoss Campbell/Dallas Blasek
@ Jalynn,
ReplyDeleteWe would be afraid too if the satellite was coming towards us. Drew and I decided we would where hard hats.
@ Abby Coogan
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I think almost everyone would be scared if they knew a 6 ton satellite was coming towards their house. I know I would.
I can't believe that a 6 ton satellite fell uncontrollably down to earth. This could have been a catastrophic event!
ReplyDeleteThe 20 year old fell on 11:23 pm on Saturday or Friday. It fell into the pacific ocean. It is as big as a bus and it wieghs 6 tons. If I knew that the satellite was coming towards me I would be scared and I would move away from my house as soon as possible and I would run.
ReplyDeleteThis satelite fell back on to Earth on Friday night and early Saturday morning. Scientists think that it hit the pacific ocean. I learned that satellites can be very big and dangerous because it could fall and hit something or someone. I would have been scared it would have hit me or my house because it would have exploded. That is very dangerous.
ReplyDeleteThe satielite fell around friday and sATUrday. It fell in canada or the ociean. It would cool to have a sattilite fall in my back yard i would hook it to my tv.
ReplyDelete@Stenger,Wade
ReplyDeleteThat would be scary exspecaly it being 5 mins off.
It landed around 1:09 Friday. It could have possibly landed in the ocean. This satellite could do a lot of damage to houses because it is the size of a bus. Yes i would afraid because if the scientists were 5 minutes off of there timing to judge where it was going to land, it could do some serious damage.
ReplyDeleteScientist think that the satlite fall toward earth sometime between Friday/Saturday.The scientist think it fell somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. We learned that there was a small chance that someone would get hit.We would be scared if there was a satlite coming at us from space because we would know that we would probably die.
ReplyDelete~Taylar H.& Brooke C.
@ Jalynn Johnson I would disagree because if a piece of a satellite was coming at me even if it did hit me or anyone else they wouldn't feel it because you would die instantly and get burned to ashes.
ReplyDelete@wade stenger i dont agree with you because they can still predict what time it lands and were
ReplyDeleteThey think that it landed in the pacific ocean. But if their prediction was 5 min off it could have hit land their are no reports of injurys. They think it hit around friday or saturday.
ReplyDeleteThe satellite fell to Earth between late Friday night and early Saturday morning. The satellite hit Earth around in the Pacific Ocean, but no one knows exactly where. In the article, it said that if the satellite had been five minutes off, it would have hit on (or near) the Western Coast of the United States. From the article, I learned that if you would happen to find any debris from the satellite, you wouldn't be able to keep or sell it because it is Government property and you could probably be arrested if you were found in possession of any of the bits of satellite. If I lived on the Western Coast of the United States, I probably wouldn't be scared for any of the debris to hit my or my friend's house because there would be a very very slim chance that ANY of it would hit my house. I think that the odds would be very much against me (to be hit by a satellite, I mean). Don't you guys all agree??????
ReplyDelete@
ReplyDeleteJaylynn Johnson,
We would be very afraid. We decided we would go hide down a well until they knew it had landed. We think that would be the safest place to go.
@Brett Kron, Drew FitzGibbon =)
ReplyDeleteIm glad it landed on the west coast and not over hear i dont think we need another flying object attack
Scientist think that the satellite came back to the earth between 11:23 on friday night through 1:09 saturday morning.most of the satellite fell in the pacific ocean.no because i dont live near the pacific ocean and i didnt know about it until this blog. If i did live near the pacific ocean i would go somewhere as soon as possible.yes i would be afraid if i knew it was going to hit my house because i know it would get destroyed and i would probably lose everything.
ReplyDelete@Micheal
ReplyDeleteI totally disagree I think the satellite falling to earth is dangerous I mean what if it fell on you would you think it's cool then? I think it's interesting though.
@Jack Baltzersen & Alex Wiekel
ReplyDeleteWe would do that to, and I would also be worried that it would do something to my home, like rip open the roof.
@ Jenny Keyser
ReplyDeleteI guess you're right about the chances of getting hit, but it would still be supper scary.
Zach&Josh
ReplyDeleteIt fell late Saturday night. it fell into the ocean. We learned that the satilite fell into the ocean but there might be some debris that fall on the land. we wouldnt be scared of the the satilite theres to little of a chance.
@ Brett Kron & Drew Fitzgibbon
ReplyDeleteWe really dont think hard hats would do any good if there was a 300 pound ball of fire coming at you at hundreds of miles per hour.
~Taylar Herbers & Brooke Chesney
The satellite may have crashed into the Pacific Ocean scientists say. They are still not sure about where it remains. Some other scientists say it could have crashed on land, but they have not heard of any injuries or deaths in any area yet. Scientists think it happened around Friday evening or Saturday morning.
ReplyDeleteIf a satellite was heading my way I would be so scared. I would leave my house as soon as possible.
@ Michael Triantafilou
ReplyDeleteI agree that a satellite in my backyard would be cool. Although it could be dangerous for it to land so close to a house.
@Brett & Drew,
ReplyDeleteGoing down a well would probably be a better idea. Not wearing hard hats. You can come down the well with us if you want. But yeah we're both on the same page we would all be very afraid.
the satelite fell between last saturday and sunday. the satelite hit in the pacific ocean. it was uncontroled so it could have landed anywhere. i agree with mathew murphy because i wouldnt want a big sharp 1000 pound object that was on fire coming towards me
ReplyDeletejack and alex i love your comments
ReplyDelete@ matthew murfy I disagree with u because its very unlikly to hit on land.Ross Campbell
ReplyDelete@ sophia,
ReplyDeleteGood post:p
@ Lorraine i agree that it would be scary because it would kill u.
ReplyDelete@micheal triantifilou
ReplyDeleteZach@Josh
If there was a satilite in our backyard we would throw a rock at it and then we would sell it.
Drew and I would also where bullet proof vests!!!!
ReplyDelete@Maddie Lindemann
ReplyDeleteThe Satellite already landed.
No need for hard hats or wells.
Unless there is debris.
Then you can invite yourself, me, rheanna, and anyone else into a well.
we agree matthew murphy and bryant winters they would be sharp!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOn a Saturday,It most likely landed in the pacific ocean. we learned that it died awhile ago and weighed a substantial amount. It would be scary if A satelite landed on my house i would be angry because i wouldnt have a house to live in.
ReplyDelete@ Jalynn Johnson
ReplyDeleteI guess I might be a tiny bit frightened if I knew that it was coming TOWARDS the area that I live in. But I'm not really sure how I would react if I knew that it was headed towards my HOUSE, though. I guess I would have to live it to find out what my reaction would be.
@Drew FitzGibbon and Brett Kron
ReplyDeleteHow would a bulletproof vewst help in this kind of situaton? Explain.
it hit somewhere in the pacific Friday night into Saturday morning i also learned it was supposed to break into pieces the biggest piece weighing around 300 lbs.
ReplyDeleteI mean't to say vest.
ReplyDeleteNASA needs to figure out a way to make a satellites move differently. maybe like a space shuttle. i don't want that kind'a thing landing on my house.
ReplyDeleteWe disagree with brooke and taylor because we dont think we would die cause the sattelite has a slim chance of hitting our home and even if it came close i think it would just destroy our houses but i dont think we would die. and we dont live near the pacific ocean, the only chance of us dying is if it hits us directly on which is one in 320,000 of a chance. Also we would have time to evacuate and go somewere else while we can.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is crazy that a 20 year old satellite plummeted to the earth and NASA does not have its exact location on the satellite. It is really scary.
ReplyDeleteNice comment Andrew
ReplyDelete@Brett and Drew
ReplyDeleteHow would hard hats help? You wouldn't know that it is going to fall on you and why wouldn't you just get out of the way!!!
meckenzey and emily i think it said 1 in 22 trillion even though there are only 7 billion people on the earth
ReplyDelete@EVERYONE
ReplyDeleteToo funny i dont understand the idea of vests and hard hast or wells even with all of the protection n the world we would die from falling debre any way
i think they got very lucky because of where the satallite landed that no one got hurt or killed
ReplyDelete@Brett and Drew
ReplyDeleteI don't really think that I would be scared. I think I would be scared if it was headed directly and I mean DIRECTLY towards my house. :)
~Jenny~
The satellite fell back on to earth on Friday 23, 2011. It said that it landed somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Also if the satellite fell on my house or in my yard, or knew that it was falling down to earth, I would freak out and scream.haha
ReplyDeletea satellite in my backyard would not be cool and your backyard is tiny Andrew.
ReplyDeleteresponse to Andrew Ebrahimpour.
@ Liz,
ReplyDeleteI can only run 36 feet so fast. I'm kinda fast that's why the hard hats would help.
That would be flat out crazy if you just saw a huge satallite plummeting toward earth. It's good to hear that nobody got hurt or even killed.
ReplyDelete@ Brett and Drew
ReplyDeleteP.S. : HOW WOULD HARD HATS HELP?!?!?!?
The debris would probably break them anyway!!
~Jenny~
the satilite fell about late friday or early saturday. where to satilite hit was unknown. i learned that the heivest peice of the satilite was 300 pounds.
ReplyDeleteThe satellite Fell in the Pacific ocean between Saturday and Sunday and we learned that a lot of bad stuff happened in 2001 and I would have been a little scared if i knew it was heading towards me
ReplyDeleteIt is actually 1 in 3,200 but the chances are 1 in 22 trillion. Also by the fact there are about 7 billion people on the planet.
ReplyDelete@brett
ReplyDeleteI know but if your life was on the line I bet you would run faster your adrenalin would kick in.
@ all
ReplyDeleteI can only run 36 feet so fast. I'm somewhat fast. So if I know im not going to make i will take the hat and throw it at the satellite so it delays it a little bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Brett and Drew
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, that probably wouldn't work out very well for you....
~Jenny~
@ Mckenzey K. & Emily R.
ReplyDeleteWe both agree that there is a slim chance that we would get hit by it but if we did we would die because it is a giant ball of fire coming at us at hundreds of mphs.
@ all,
ReplyDeleteI would keep my spare jet pack on my back
Well its a good thing it fell into the ocean and not on somebody or a house. if it would have been five minutes off firey pieces would have fell onto land!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe sateallite fell last weekend.I would be scared it would hit my house...Did it hit anybody when it fell?..i could imagane it..Lil boy: Heey mom look its a bird...Oh crap run for your life. I cant believe it fell now, you would think it would have came down earlier. I dont think they will find it since it crashed in the ocean. It must have sunk quick since it weighed 6 tons.
ReplyDeleteThat's a little scary and dangerous, don't you think? I know the risks are small and stuff, but you could still be hit by flying satellite chunks. Ya know what, I'll bet any one in 20 years some dude is gonna sell a chunk he had in his garage to a museum and get arrested like a mo-rod. people are just stupid.
ReplyDeleteI think it is cool that it was in space for 20 years.I wonder if the satellite was for something important.
ReplyDelete@ Brett Kron
ReplyDeleteHey can I have a jet pack too pleaseeeeeeeeee! I am desprate I really need a jet pack!
@ sara bleomker
ReplyDeletei wouldnt be that scared if it hit my house because i would move some were better than my house.
The satellite fell sometime between 11:23 pm through night til the morning at 1:30 am in the Pacfic ocean. We also learned how much the satellite weighs and that satellites actually can fall out of space. Yes because the satellite is heavy, and could seriously injure our family and friends. The staellite could also destroy my home as well.
ReplyDelete@emilyR
ReplyDeletethis so cool that out of 7 billion people in the world this did not even hit one.
My dad told me about this on Sunday, I didn't really think it would be a problem because the fact that it may hit our house is very slim. But I did think it was bad that 6 tons of metal could have hit and kill someone. I wonder, does anyone know what that satellite was used for? Like was it used for tracking something or taking pictures of earth ect. I wonder if they'll ever find it, or if they'll find any debris of it.
ReplyDelete@ Brynn & Julia
ReplyDeleteOMG You are so right it is EXTREMELY weird that a satellite just decides to drop out of the sky suddenly. Its a bird, its a plane, no its a satellite every body run!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!
HEE-HEE-HEE
The satellite fell to earth this weekend. It may have fallen into the Pacific ocean but it may land in northwestern north america. It landed on Friday or Saturday at 11:23 pm. and 1:09 pm. We also learned that the satellite could have been going a couple hundred miles per hour, so it would have been a big splash. Yes I would have been terrified. I will now always be some where, where I can always check the sky for the falling satellite
ReplyDeleteThe satalite landed some time between 11:23PM on friday and 1:09 on saturday. It landed in the pacific ocean. It was 6 tons and was 20 years old. We would not be afraid because it said there was only a 1 in 22 trillion chance of hitting someone.
ReplyDelete@ Sarah & Maggie
ReplyDeleteNUH-UH. The satellite is on the other side of America, It's not gonna hit ya. We should just feel bad for the people on the east coast & not worry about our selves.
I don't really understand why it fell, was it defective or something or was it intentional? What was it made for? Will they ever find it or will it go unnoticed like so many other things? I'm glad it didn't hurt anyone, but I don't think it will end up hitting anyone anyway.
ReplyDelete@ Sophia Georges
ReplyDeleteWe agree, we would leave our house immediatley. Where would you go?
scientists belive that the satelite crashed into the ocean because their have been no reports of the satelite from people on earth. the satelite fell from the sky on friday 23, 2011. If I knew the satelite was falling and I thought it might hit my house I would be afraid for my life and I would grab my cat, a few books, and food and get out of there.
ReplyDeleteThe satellite fell out of space between Friday and Saturday into possibly in the pacific ocean or maybe on the western coast of the U.S. we;re lucky we weren't hit by debris.
ReplyDelete@ Bailee and Katherine
ReplyDeleteTo us, the question would mean, if you were there. We would worry about them, not just ourselves, but you have to worry about your own safety as well.
@ Cara Roche
ReplyDeleteI also wonder why it fell. It could of been old and stoped working.
@connor and sam We don't know if the satellite actually landed in the pacific ocean so oyu are wrong.
ReplyDelete@ Br@d & Matthew
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Are you REALLY gonna check in the sky for satellite pieces every where you go. If you do, more power to ya. Katherine thinks you would damage your neck doin' that. We send our concerns...
It landed in the pacific ocean. it hit this past weekend. I would be scared out of my pants because i am two yuung to die. Also if it was timed wrong it could have landed in the US. that would really stink... I hope you have satalite insurance!
ReplyDelete@ Sarah & Maggie
ReplyDeleteGot it.
@Cara Roche: I think it fell to earth because it ran out of fuel or something like that, I don't know what it's made for but I think it has to do with looking at earth and taking pictures or tracking something on earth. I don't think they'll ever be able to find it if it all fell in the ocean. I'm glad no one was hurt too.
ReplyDeletethe satilite is going to fall in the US or in the Atlantic south toward Africa.i would be really scared because it might hurt or injure someone i love <3
ReplyDeleteThe Satellite fell down to the pacific ocean around Friday or Saturday . Yes , I would have been afraid ...... if it would have hit my house i probably would have freaked out majorly . Were very lucky it didnt fall later that day or year . :(
ReplyDelete@connor and sam We don't know if the satellite actually fell into the pacific ocean or on land so you are wrong
ReplyDelete@ Maggie Hoover/Sarah Colwell<3 <3
ReplyDeleteI would not want to be where the satellite fell because i would be crushed.
@W!ll & Finny
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Ha that's funny. OMG what if there was satellite insurance? That would be SO cool!
=)
The satilite fell into the Pacific ocean on Friday night/Saterday morning. We learned that it did not hit land. We would've been, like, totally fa-weking out if we knew that it was, like, falling.

ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDelete@W!ll $m!th: It landed in the ocean so I'm sure it wouldn't hit you so your not going to die. And I think they said if it was timed wrong it would have landed in a big city here in the U.S along with the little pieces that fell off. I don't think they have Satellite insurance but they may have astriod protection!:D I'm just glad it over and we don't have to worry about 6 tons of metal flying over our house.
ReplyDelete@ William and nick
ReplyDeleteThe article said that the satalite landed in the pacific but the debre might have landed on land.
This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is very lucky that the satellite mostly crashed in the ocean. I mean, if a six-ton piece of space junk fell on my house I'd be pretty bummed! Why would they even send something that big into space in the first place?
ReplyDeleteIt fell between friday and saturday,it is as big as a bus and wieghs around 6 tons. They say it landed in the pacific ocean and some debris landed in Seattle. If it hit someone itwould have been all over the news
ReplyDeletethe satellite fell out of space between Friday and Saturday, it possible hit the pacific ocean or maybe on the western coast of the U.S and we are lucky it didnt hit us. If it hit my house i would probably die and/or freak out.
ReplyDeleteme and maggie didnt put smile faces and hearts at there names. brady and alex did.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeleteWe hope that the satellite fell into the pacific ocean and not somewhere where nobody can find it or get hurt. Like said in the passage, the metal used for it should be returned to NASA, so if it was lost in the middle of nowhere, nobody would find it, then again if it lands in the ocean it would be harder to find it but at least no one would have a chance of getting hurt by it.
ReplyDelete@ Jack and Alex
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't run I would buy a telescope try to find the satellite with by telescope. that would be pretty cool to watch the satellite fall to the earth. I would do it in a safe place though.
@ Jenna & W!ll
ReplyDeleteWere all gonna die, From somthin' that's on the other side of the US. Thats right W!ll.
Scientists say that the satellite crashed into the ocean, because no one has said anything about it crashing on their land friday sept.23 2011.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDelete@ Mera Huey
ReplyDeleteMaybe it just now got sucked in to earths gravitational orbit.
I agree with Lexi, the satellite would've been really scary if it fell on my house. I bet that anyone on earth would at least be extremely bummed if a satellite fell onto their home, destroying everything that the person had worked to get.
ReplyDelete@ Sarah & Maggie
ReplyDeleteI would hope so
well scientists believe that a satilite came back to earth between friday night at 11:23 between saturday at 1:09. they say that it has crashed in the pacific ocean. well i say if i knew that and i was any where near there that i would be scared. i would probably be scared because im in that area where its happenmeing and its falling from outside of space. you know if that hits us or ground u could die because if it hits ground an explosion could happen but if it hits you ur automatically dead no reasoning about it. also because you know if you drop a penny from the eiffel tower and hits you in the head you lose contiousness and a satelite hitting you with full force out of space umm yaa im going to be scared. so lets hope everyone is cool and ok and another one dont fall(-:. so anyways i wonder how it fell if like they found the satelite or a captured video something!
ReplyDelete@ Brady Doyle and Alex Anderson
ReplyDeleteI like what you said about if hit your house you would get to move another house but I would not want to move because I like my house.I don't know what would happen if it really did hit somebodys house i guess NASA would have to pay for the damage because you don't have sattelite insurance.
The Satallite was said to fall in the U.S. or the Atlantic South toward Africa. I would be scared if the 6 ton as big as a bus Satallite would possibly fall onto my home, on top of me, or on top of the people I love like my friends and family.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDelete@ Shannon and Gloria , that makes alot of sense but if we find some of the pieces we can melt it and save it for other pieces of work in space .
ReplyDeleteby the way KLEINHOLZ and EMILY i like your comment(-:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and matt murphy your awesome lol.
ReplyDeleteThe day that the satalite fell was last weakend. The place that satalite fell was in the ocean. The thing that I learned about the satalite was that it weighted 6 tons.Yes I would be really afraid because what if it hit my house.
ReplyDeleteWe think that it is fortunate that the satellite crashed into water instead of on land. It is a scary thought knowing that a piece of equipment as big as a bus could have crashed onto land and seriously injured a large quantity of citizens!!!>:O
ReplyDelete@ will smith and finny
ReplyDeletei don't think there such thing as satellite insurance but if it hit your house i wander if NASA would pay for the repairs or a new house. That would be terrible if that happened.
lexi you got a good piont SO TRUE
ReplyDelete@ Maria Lowry.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. You love your family and friends like us. haha
@Brad Weidner and Matthew Budde we agree, that would be prettty sweet.
ReplyDelete@ W!ll & Finny
ReplyDeleteI agree with budde & Br@d but it would still be cool
The satelite could have harmed sea creatures. It could have polluted the ocean.I think that something could have severly hurt.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Riley and Mimi.
ReplyDelete@ Alex Anderson(:
ReplyDeleteIm moving anyway so let that thingy hit my house,(:
We agree with casey because if it fell on someone house they would be p o d and IT would take a WHILE TO CLEAN IT UP.
ReplyDelete@bailee
ReplyDeleteU r NOT a friendly person
@ Casey Schablein
ReplyDeleteI agree with you I don't even get why they would send something up into space that big. Don't they know that eventually it will probaly fall. Nasa is so lucky that it fell into the ocean.
It fell around friday or saturday and it fell somewhere near the pacific ocean i would of wanted it to fall near my house so i could hook up my tv and everything and have everything absoulutely free:D
ReplyDelete@jacob spohr ..... Yes jacob i agree it would be very cool to have it fall in my backyard so you could have all channels and tv free!
ReplyDeletei would like to see the 20 year old satellite dish to see how big it is and to see where it landed.
ReplyDeleteScientists think the satellite fell into the Pacific Ocean, sometime between late Friday night and early Saturday morning. I learned that the biggest piece of the satellite that survived weighed about 300 pounds.
ReplyDeletei think it whould be cool if it hit earth . cuz we whould die but life worth it .
brandi luers
I heard it was FALLING on friday and I thought it was going to land some where on a house. I could picture it.
ReplyDeleteit landed in the Pacific Ocean
ReplyDeletei learned that if NASA was 5 minutes off their prediction some of the satellite might come crashing down to earth in the northwestern part of the US. i would be super scared about it crashing into my house, i think it would be scary if it fell on your house but it would be cool to watch it fall into the ocean, as long as it was safe.
i forgot to add it fell around Friday or Saturday
ReplyDeleteIt said if it was 5 minutes later it would have crashed because of the Earths rotation the land would have been where it crashed
ReplyDelete@ Marie Mcclurg
ReplyDeletei agree i would prob freak out and/or die
I did not hear much about it but all I herd was on Friday morning then after during school I herd a lot of people where talking about it.
ReplyDeleteit cashed between friday and saturday. it landed in the pacific ocean. i learned that the biggest satalite piece was 300 pounds. if i saw it coming to hit me i would freak out and run around in circles.
ReplyDeleteI would love to of see this 20 year old satellite fall out of space if it really did.and in my own opinion i think this is another nerdy scientific prediction like as well along with that the world is going to end in 2012.but i could be wrong. and i wonder if it would fall like a meteor with fire and rocks...that would be really cool? and would be also really cool if it fell into the middle school.
ReplyDelete@ Patrick Oconnell What do you mean. Please show your work. (4 points)
ReplyDeleteFrom what I read it fell around Friday or Saturday. It fell in the ocean. I learned that it was the size of a school bus. I would not be afraid of it because there is a very very small chance it would hit me or my house.
ReplyDeleteit fell somewhere in the pacific ocean somewhere between Friday and Saturday it weighs more than 400 pounds.i would be so scared that i would so far away if the satellite was coming to me or my house
ReplyDelete@sam bepler
ReplyDeletewouldnt still hit you if you ran in circles
I would run AWAY from it
they say that the satellile was 6,000 pounds. If they were off by 5 min the satalight would hit earth. if caclued wrong could hit the usa.
ReplyDeleteThe satellite happened on Friday-Saturday between 11:23p.m.-1:09a.m.It is located in the upper atmosphere in Alberta, Canada North of the settle and continued Atlantic South toward Africa and ended where it started falling over the Pacific. We learned that 26 pieces have 1,200 pounds(544 kilograms)and the largest chunk of satellite was 300 pounds (136 kilograms). If a satellite hit our houses we would be a scared because we would probably have no where to live and we would probably have to buy all kinds of new things like cloths shoes and we wouldn't have that much food and something to drink
ReplyDeleteMrs.hoffman
ReplyDeleteThe scienctist think that it fell into the ocean. There has ben know report of someone getting hit with any space junk.I was scared it was going to hit my house or me. But also I was hoping I would get a space souvnier that would be cool.
It fell somewhere in the ocean. It fell around Friday or Saturday .I would have been very afraid if it fell on my house! it weighs over 6 tons!!!It would probably crush me.
ReplyDeleteIt Fell around Friday or Saturday and it was close to the Pacific Ocean. I would want it to land on Rapid Run so we could get out of school and we would get to see the parts of the satellite
ReplyDelete@sammie royer
ReplyDeleteWe agree because that is what we found to
@Lauren P

ReplyDeleteThe satllitte fell in the pacific ocean around seattlelast week. we learned that it was around 6 tons and the size of a baby blue whale . If we new it was coming down we would scream and try to go as far away as possible.
The satellite crashed between Friday night around 11:oo and Saturday morning around 1:00. Scientist think the satellite crashed somewhere in the pacific ocean but may be near Seattle. I also learned the satellite was sent up in 2005 before scientist had better technology to prevent it from crashing. I would be TERRIFIED if the satellite was crashing into my house.
ReplyDeletewell nobody was hurt so who cares
ReplyDeleteI think this is very frightening I heard about it on the news though and didnt think very much of it but after reading about it, it really makes me wonder!?!?

The satellite hit in the Pacific ocean. It hit between 11:23pm - 1:09am on Friday night and Saturday morning. I learned 1,200 pounds of heavy metal had been expected to rain down somewhere. The biggest surviving chunk was at least 300 pounds. Yes, I would have been scared and very nervous because it could of hurt my family and I.
ReplyDeleteThe satellite was 20 years old and it fell in the pacific ocean. I learned that it was 6 tons. No because it would most likely not hit my house.
ReplyDeleteI think that it wasn't being used and the earths gravity got a hold of it and pulled to earth.

Scientists think the satellite crashed in the Pacific Ocean but if scientists are off by 5 minutes it could have landed North America. We think it landed somewhere in Canada this weekend. We learned that the satellite was the size of a bus and weighed about 6 tons. We would be very scared if the satellite hit our house or hit our brain's.
ReplyDeleteThe satellite hit in 9/24/2011 Sat. It hit in the U.S.A,Canada,and maybe Africa. We lerned that before it crashed it ran out of gas. Yes we would be afriad if it hit us or our houses
