Space Station

After reading the article on the 20 year old satellite crashing to Earth, now read this article about the possibilities of the Space Station crashing into Earth in the years to come.

Space Station

When do they think the space station is going to fall back to Earth?  What are the chances of it crashing into the US?  What are your thoughts?

We both agree that it shouldn't even come back to earth. we should just keep it in orbit. The only good thing that we could think about having it comeback is all the scrap metal making a lot of money

  2. I think that NASA and other Space Programs should completely stop and restart fresh. Space Programs have been having to many problems. I'm surprised they are getting any thing done

  3. i have heard on the news that this satellite was very big and very heavy and it is supposed to break up into little pieces and the biggest piece is supposed to be around 300 pounds but any way that s so cool my dad was telling me about that yesterday

  4. I don't think that the space station is going to fall back to Earth, and if it does the chances of it landing in the U.S.A. are UN likely. And I think that NASA spends too much money on the space programs.

  5. I think we have a good long while till the space station comes down. I is a one in a million chance exsecial the station is newer that satalite was 20 yeas old it was its time

We think that the satillite will not fall down and we think they should just make a new one. I think it is unlikely it will crash into the Usa. I think they should make a new one and make it more efficient.

I would think that the satellite would be heavy and not very easily movable. IT MIGHT SMOOSH U if it landed on anyone.

We think that it will land in the year 2020 but it could land anywhere in the world and will probably not land in the usa.

They think that it will fall in 2020 or beyond. It will most likely not fall in the U.S.

  10. We think that we shouldnt just stop the space station but we should restart and see what happens, because we've been having problems.

  11. I think we should completely restart our space station . This would be the safer route but it may cost a lot of money so to save and recycle we could melt the old space station metal and make a new space station .

  12. @ max and landon , we have been having problems with the space station . :)

the space station will probably crash in 2020 or 2028. The chances that it will crash in the u.s. are very slim.

  15. i think that NASA needs to cut down on how much they are spending and that it is very unsafe knowing that another satallite could fall on earth but this time hit us.

  16. @ lexi bouchard i agree we should restart our space program

They think it will crash in 2020. the chances of it crashing into the USA are very slim because they are going to control where it will crash. that it will not crash into the uas

  19. i think it will crash in 2020 the chances of it crashing in the usa is very slim they are controling were it will crash . but it will not crash in to the usa

  21. @jack balzertson and Alex wiekel.... agree with your statement that they should do that

  22. I dont think think that the space station will fall back to earth. the chances of it falling back to the united states of america is uunlikly

  23. i think we have a long time until the space station falls down to earth. i doubt it will land any where near the US. i really hope it never comes crashing down to earth.

    i agree with you

  25. @ lexi I agree with you and many other people who think the same because that would be a good solution to n.a.s.a's bad things happining

  26. I think the space station will fall back to Earth around 2030. I think the chances of it falling in the United States is a slim chance because there is a lot of other places that it could fall on, I think it will fall in Russia because Russia is a big country.

I agree with the second thing that you said.

  32. i think it will come in the next 6-7 years i guess who knows because i don't

  33. Well first off i think if they think that theres any chance of it fallin they should take action to it right away. But I personally dont thnk its gonna fall anytime soon...

    ReplyDelete
  34. okay... that falling would be a whole lot worse.. ( a lot larger anyway) But if they Know its going to happen, even if its not going to happen for awhile< they need to do something about it.

i agree if they know that all of the money they're waisting just going to fail then why spend it you know

I think that it will be a while until the space station will fall back to the earth. Its very unlikely that the space station will fall in the US but, it may land in the ocean.

  37. I agree with pretty much everyone that NASA spends too much money on things in space

  38. @ Zack and Josh
We agree with you they should leave it in orbit or sell it for money and heres Simon thanks unless theres people on that ship I think that we should just make it burn it by the suns atmisfer.

  39. @ lexi buchard.
i agree we should restart. why are we spending so much on things that are going to crash?

    ReplyDelete
  40. The space station should fall in 2020 or up to 2028. It shouldn't fall to the US though. When it's time is up it will be positioned to the ocean to fall there instead of on land. I think when it does fall it might cause a tsunami or an earthquake with its 431 tons of weight.

They think the space stashen is going to fall in 2020-2028.There is 50/50 chance of it landing in the US.My thoughts are that it crazy at all this is happening.

    @Lexi B.
I agree with you. They should just restart on the space station also because it would be much safer to have new appliances and we wouldn't have to spend any extra money and eventually it would save up.

  43. I agree with Jenna who agrees with anyone that NASA is spending way too much espically on things that will crash.

  44. NASA scientists want to keep the space station in orbit until atleast 2020, before they crash it into the ocean. The chances of the space station hitting the U.S., or any other land, are very slim because this will be a controlled fall, not like the satellite that fell just this past weekend. I agree with Libbey and Jenna that NASA spends too much money on things that are eventually going to be crashed onto our planet. However, i do think that these things are important, so that we can increase our knowledge of space.
